Reminds me of what happened on the Bowderdale ride last year ...meeting lads off here for the first time ..I'd just had a brand new shadow mech fitted the day previously ..we literally had just turned off the car park at the start of the ride when the whole thing jammed into the spokes of my back wheel ..and wouldn't budge ..that could have been it for the day had it not been for excellent service from Wheelbase at Staveley who hearing my tale of woe fitted a new mech while I had a latte in the excellent Wilfs cafe next door. Missed the first half of the ride ..but met the lads in Ravenstonedale later in the day .. Just shows that shit can happen any time !

Are you away atm then Kalli?
Unlucky but yeah, happened to me on my old Merida when I hadn't even got out of my street - my fault though as that was my first 'effort' at adjusting a rear mech.

Yeah it can happen any time, and i guess i have been lucky that its the first time its happend to me in over 3 years of riding. At least i got to ride it back to the car and didn't have to take the walk of shame, if i had been on my own that could have been a very real possibility . Why is it these things always happen the wrong side of payday?

Haven't gone away, the kids just wanted to spend the day on the beach at weston. They're a bit old for donkey rides now, but they still enjoy going there. Haven't had the pleasure of trying to adjust it myself, the rules are that i stay out the bike shed and he stays out of my kitchen . I do help to clean and dry the bikes and oil the chain, though it freaks him out if he's not about when i do it. He has a pattern. Don't think i could work with him.

This was exactly what i spent most of saturday night trying to find without any success!!!! They other half was going to try and bodge the arm from the old x9 on if we couldn't find one, however, after closer inspection last night a pin has been ripped out of the main body, so the whole derailleur is totally useless . Think i may bookmark that link though, good find!!!
