Steep hill, mud and 160mm of travel should cure that

I love it to be honest. I took the kids to see the cycling at Glasgow and it was awesome to watch live.

The thing about track cycling is that you can see the whole race right in front of you because it's like nascar on 2 wheels and no engine, purely muscle power and you can see how fast they accelerate right there, it's right exciting, i love it, ive also had a go in Glasgow too, fixed gear and no brakes makes it ..... Interesting haha

I've watched a bit - wtf is with the pace e-bike? How does that work? Doing a few 'race' laps trailing behind and then a sprint for the last couple of laps. How is that a race??
Watched Cav race last night and had no idea how that worked - seemed like a few laps of jostling and then a sprint and then back to jostling and riding all over the track and another sprint...

That ain't no e-bike ..it's a motor bike . If you noticed the bloke wasn't peddling. I don't see the point of that either other than to keep the riders moving ...it leaves with 2.5 laps to go and you can't move ahead of it until it's left ... after which it's an all out sprint.. I guess the race could become too tactical without him forcing the pace ... I'm as confused about the other race as you are other than there is a sprint lap after every 10 laps where points are awarded..then if you lap the field more points are awarded ...which are added to the total number of points you have accumulated from previous races ...you don't necessarily have to win that last race to win overall...

An exciting end to it all ..fantastic race ( eventually ) by Jason Kenny to win his 6th gold medal ...and by his missus to be... Laura Stott on becoming Britain's most successful female Olympian with her fourth gold medal . Rebecca James was so so close to a gold having to settle for silver on the narrowest of margins ..and Katy Marchant winning a bronze .. Great to see that every single rider came away with a medal in the British team ..a fantastic achievement .. That's as close as I'll get to being a roadie for another 4 years ..now where did I put my dirty bike ...

Yes a great performance by the cycling team (apart from Wiggin's being a dick on the podium during the National Anthem - Twat!) - pity we have no one in the XC race's though....

Pace bike for this one is an electric scooter, starts at 25kph running upto 50kph before peeling off, idea is it brings the riders all up to the same kind of speed for the sprint. The pacer sits between the black an red lines an the pack will usually all just splistream him to save energy.

I've just got zero interest in anything road/velodrome based - and I mean zero interest. I just don't care for it and would rather watch a blank screen then bikes going round and round a track or doing endless boring climbs up mountain roads.
Then, I'm the same with motor sport - just rather watch paint dry or grass grow. Honestly bores me to tears.

I watched a lot of it but didn't get that excited, why can't they just have normal races over set distances like every other sport. So they actually race instead of all the time wasting it would be a lot more exciting right from the word GO.
Respect to all the medalists though, it doesn't look easy.

He's tipped to win, last five years he's won the TDF sprinters jersey, they class a sprint stage as anything up to 60Km
