The intention was to get out early ..but when I looked out of the bedroom window all I could see was mist ..so eventually got underway at 9.15.
What a cracking morning ..it wasn't long before I was shedding a layer ..the music on my i-pod was good too but the bloody earpieces kept dropping out of my lugs ..
After happening one time too many I decided to ditch the music altogether and stash the player in my back pack for safe keeping ..that's when I noticed another rider heading towards me from whence I had come .
Enter John ..who was from over the border in East Lothian and was on his Haibike full-sus..doing a 50 mile loop.
It transpired that he used to do a lot of fell walking but when his knees / ankles started complaining too much he got a hardtail ..when an elderly gent on an ebike breezed past him one day and in his words " I couldn't catch the bastard " ..he decided that he too should have one ( haha ) .
Anyway he seemed good craic so as we were heading in the same direction and he was happy to go at my pace I offered to show him some " off piste" ..which he was keen to do ...

If there is a better way to spend a morning..(well maybe there is another that's on par !).....
