Just wanted to get peoples thoughts ..
When I originally took back my avid brakes, before they chagned to the Deores, one of the things the techy said was that the front wheel could be out of alignment.. I just said "yeah ok" becuase I didnt really understand. However having had to take the front wheel off to go to a trail on the weekend, I'm not quite sure what he meant.
He said that it was a case of feeling the gap between the edge of the tyre and the inner of the forks. Simple enough. Here's the special question. The quick release isnt adjustable from side to side is it? The hinge end, is static, with a nut on the other side? So the only way to adjust the position of the wheel is to tighten/loosen it correct?
Sorry for the noob question !

By out of alignment, did he mean buckled?
You can't re-align a wheel via the QR or axle. You'll need to mess about with spoke tension to realign it correctly!

Take the wheel to a specialist and get them to check the dish of the wheel

Sorry chaps, poorly worded again on my part ! Not a buckled wheel no, as in the actual seating of the wheel within the forks .. IE the gap each side of the tyre to the inside of the fork ?? Was I being misled

It does look a bit more to the right than the left but that could just be the camera angle, if it is more to one side that the other then like I said it will be because the dish of the wheel is out (, a good LBS should be able to check it for you
