Just found out theres a recall on daughters old hardtail. Its a trek mynx s 2013 and the recall affects the front qr, apparently as it can move over 180 degrees it can pass through the front rotor and cause an accident. It's not just this trek model it affects, apparently any qr with front disc from this time frame may be affected. Trek are replacing it for us under warranty.

Was on pinkbike a while back, there were 100s of thousands of bikes recalled over it. I dont think it had actually caused any accidents, they were just covering their arses.

I didn't see it unfortunately and found out about it when trying to look up the weight of the mynx to compare with daughters new bike. She wants to keep the hardtail to, so I want to make sure its safe for her!!!

Its basically because some dozey mong n the US rode with it open an it got caught. Bit like the woman in the US who sued Mcdonalds because the paper cup her hot chocolate was in was hot, an no one warned her.
