Today is a sad day, as i have just sold my DMR Bolt Frame I had a cracking last ride yesterday with a mate, but now its got to go... I was in love with how the bike rode, and it was my favorite bike i've owned so far, however i will be heading off to University on the 12th of September so the bike had to be sold... It would simply be a waste to keep it at home for 10 months at a time and i will need the money while at Uni. I'm 50/50 whether or not i'll go buy a cheap Hardtail just to use when i'm home in the summer, or i might just sell all of my kit and start again after Uni... Over the next couple of days, i will be updating the Buy/Sell section with the remaining components I'd just like to say thanks to all the guys who keep this forum running, and for all the help you've offered, as well as the numerous times you've nearly made me spit my coffee over my laptop! jgmu97 OUT

All the best at uni. It's a craic, just don't forget to work as well. As for a bike, I say get one now cos you will be paying off that student loan long after you finish

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I'm sure its going to be an amazing experience I would be more inclined to get a bike if i was able to keep it inside my room. There's only outdoor bike shelters so thats why i'm only taking my road bike. Maybe in my 2nd year when i have my own place, it will make it a bit easier to keep and maintain I will try and keep upto date with the MTB world and offer my advice on here. Just thought i'd put a goodbye post as i will not be on as much and i'm now mountain bike less

Mate, pretty much all of the amazing riding I have done came as a result of the Manchester Uni mtb club! This includes making mates who, 14 years later, I am still best of mates with and riding pretty much every go to riding venue in the uk and Europe (and still do!)
Bristol has a massive mtb scene, if you need a hook up at any point giz a shout. First year is always a bit of a blur, and I can see how having a bike is hard (I didn't take a ride to uni in yr 1 either). Trouble is getting pissed and hanging out does get repetitive by year 2-3 and having bikes is something that adds another dimension to social things

Also you are over the river from Cardiff, there is some amazing both legal (and otherwise) riding in South Wales, you will be a muppet to not see that!

Yeah thanks Mediocore I think i'll leave it for first year as i dont fancy leaving a nice MTB in a bike shelter!!! However, in 2nd year and onwards, when i've got my own place i think i'll have a bike. It does seem like theres a big riding scene there so it would be great to get a bike and meet some more people! Cheers for the help man
