There is a reason why Maxxis and Schwalbe are the market leaders. Maxxis especially have really thick sidewalls...which makes them really robust but a pain to setup, even compared to Snakeskin Schwalbes.

The tough/high grip version do exactly what they say but you pay a price with the weight.

I've used Maxxis tyres for years ..these roll & grip so much better ..but if the trade off is that they only last a month then that's way too rich for my blood..

Try the thicker walled WTB tire.I can't fault them and they only cost 13 quid a tire from Planet X

Ah OK, proper steal at £13 when I got them. Really liked the tire at the weekend.
I would buy again however as I am new to biking I plan on making my way though the brands to try whats available.
