:)Nice bikes, I really like the stealthy looking on one. Not to sure about the bar ends on the carrera though, my hubby has them on his hard tail to and I've begged him to take them off to no avail, must be a man thing. I like the carreras, again my husband had one until he got run over on it don't think he would of got rid of it else.

Thanks guys really enjoy both of these bikes even though the kraken weighs a bloody ton! Had a bit of a brake mare today with it the fancy front Hope rotor kept catching its own mount. Binned it off in favour or an old 160mm tektro instead and sorted the pedals so the right releases rather than keeping my foot locked in.
Bar ends Kalli make hill climbs far easier though I do feel somewhat overstetched so the bars may need chopping down a touch.
Plans going forward, loose the suspension fork on the kraken and get some lighter rims, that should if my maths is right bin off about 3Kg, im by no means a weight weenie but the thing weighs a tonne at the moment.

Well I snapped a QR yesterday which was probably damaged when I came off the bike the other week. Queue going to my LBS and picking up some new shiny ones, and a new rotor as mine was warped to the point of no return. mmmm red makes you faster, front rotor is nothing special it just works

I've committed sacrilege! Still, that's a full 1.3Kg off the bike! Feels really nice at the moment even with the steerer not located properly (no star nut) Now all i need to do is decide how much stack I want. Chop it, sort the brake hose and see about a respray on the frame. Also little touch I loved, pre made brake mount!

I had a Scandal myself.. First bike I ever built and I made a bit of a mess of it to be fair.
The frame was superb though.. Light as a feather and pretty fast too!

I chopped the fork steerer down to something sensible earlier and after breaking three starnuts i bailed and put in a hope head doctor with some grip paste to er, grip things. Rather chuffed with the result after working out how it worked.

Kinda broke the dropper post the other week so its off while i wait for a couple of bits to repair it. Mean time after some advice on here a put on a new tyre. The rims are terrible to mount tyres on normally, these went on a treat an sealed first time no leaks. looks a bit odd with a clean tyre up front but ill fix that tomorrow no doubt. Incidentally weighed both bikes, both within a few grams of 12.1Kg. used two scales to be sure as well. Flukey though I reckon the Kraken will shed some once I sort some lighter wheels out.

Well today was service the bikes day. washed dried stripped down degreased greased up and rebuilt. Scandals looking much fresher. Also both smell amazing after I used car polish and wax on them both help the gunk stick less. So much purple! Maybe I should do the frame gloss black?

Added a third bike to the stable, this ones a little different to the others Im awaiting flaming on that one haha Does mean though I can put some more sensible tyres on the Kraken though which will be a blessing. Conti came off the Scandal it started to deform and go thin on one side so its running a Panaracer which seems OK so far.

Little update on the Scandal new tyres on a Schwalbe Nobby Nic grips well went up well tubeless. Some Rental kevlar grips and put the purple rims on for a bit of colour and because they are wider which is better for the tyres. Oh and a new saddle the rail on the madison snapped on one side so picked up a Selle Italia C2 gel flow thingy seems comfy enough.

Got annoyed with the paint on the Kraken, so I killed the paint needs a little bit more around the cable holes but I think it looks much better.
