I just love it as he passes other mountain bikers ......he must have the biggest grin on his face.........the lazy twat Didn't watch it all... But just to put you wise..the electric motor is an aid ... He would still be pedalling like f*ck to reach that sort of speed ...if not harder than before ! Where riders will get pissed off is when someone who wouldn't have the same fitness levels under normal circumstances comes flying by them ... But if they were also on an e-bike the unfit lad still wouldn't stand a chance and they can always retain the moral high ground/ hurl abuse!br]I have tested a full-sus Haibike and thought it was amazing...what's not to like about going faster uphill . I'm not ready to go down that route yet ... But think about it ... If this can extend the amount of years you can keep riding as we get older .. Then I'm all for them I think you should " serve your time " first though so would slap an age limit of 65 on them !!!

I couldn't live with that noise Me too, so much for the peace and quiet / being in the middle of nowhere! In real time it's nowhere near as noisy as that .. But that does sound extreme on the clip! Personally I like a bit of noise ...it's way too quiet here !

I reckon that was supercharged and not a normal one, can't see someone keeping that speed up even with assistance for that amount of time

I reckon that was supercharged and not a normal one, can't see someone keeping that speed up even with assistance for that amount of time You could be right ... However on the Haibike I tested there was 4 speed settings ... " turbo " being the fastest setting .. Which looked about right for the speed he was doing ! I would say though that apart from the rider not being able to keep it up for long ...on that setting the battery would only last for about an hour tops .. but as technology moves on and things get lighter and smaller who knows how much battery life will improve.

As said, the noise would do my head in.
I do like the idea of them but I just think it's cheating, but ask me again in 10 years!

there was a girl at Glentress the other day with an E-Bike, she said she wouldnt be able to get out on a normal bike due to a heart condition, this is why I like E-Bikes, they allow people who couldnt use a normal geared bike to get out and enjoy themselfs
