Hi Kalli, I'm after the location of the start of "dog kennel" .. and "the waterfall run"
I've ridden over there on and off for years and normally park at the end of the old railway track at the bottom of Tanners Hill I think its called (?) .. so may have ridden parts of these trails in the past already, but would like to know where they actually start and do them start to finish
I have the OS map for the forest if its easier to PM me a grid reference ?
Thanks in advance

Is this the segment for waterfall? Dont have grid ref sorry
www.strava.com/segments/5802318 — Wild Boar Waterfall Only got doggers kennel steep end on strava for dog kennel, if its the one I'm thinking of it finishes by a shed not far from the car park you mentioned. www.strava.com/segments/7522933 — Doggers Kennels (steep finish) We usually park button oak but know the car park you mean. Theres some great riding over the wyre but its very muddy at the moment . I smacked my face pretty hard a few weeks back on the five ways drop segment, I'm pretty sure the rocks still wearing my mole.

They could be the one's, but I have no idea TBH, virtually all the trails seem shrouded in mystery (understandably )
This link shows the one .. .. I'm not even sure if the "waterfall run" is also called "the Jungle Run" .. or is that another ??
I love it over there TBH, but yeah, its a clay mud bath every time I go .. I did manage to go one day a while ago when most places I went were actually dry, and it blew my mind .. never known it like that since ..

Jungle run is waterfall and to be honest thats what i always call it, it just comes up on strava as waterfall. Didnt recognise the video until about 2.35 mins in, we come in a different way. There are a few drops off that run. Heres a video i found of the run we take some times also called dog kennel (it isnt us). I think the end of that is up as slipping and sliding on strava.
The end is steep the video doesn't do it justice. If you park on the dry mill lane carpark (think the post code is DY12 2LQ its the carpark at the end of the old railway line that is now a walkway into the wyre), leave the carpark where you came onto it and bear left, follow that road down and keep Dowles brook on your left. You will see a house on the right and just past it a shed, one run exits between the house and shed. If you keep going up that road but look to your right you will clearly see the exits for the others including the one above. If you follow the stream/road till you come to the end of the path turn right up a concrete road climb (this is by the end of camber if you know this run) at the top of this climb there is a turning right onto a grassy path. Follow this to the end and turn right this will take you to a rough little path that runs through a brook. For ease follow the main path to top where you can see caravan site. Take main turning right, as you drop down keep an eye on the left, there are 2 paths, the second is better. Follow path keeping on edge and pick the downs from here. They will bring you back to the road with the stream and you can go back around again, but please dont miss that left turn. Sorry its a bit vague, but best i can do.

Thanks for taking the time to do this Kalli, much appreciated
I've had a B'stard of a long day today, so I'll plan a route based on your post when I can think straight
Lookin forward to getting over there again, its been a while, I might even pop over on the Trek and get some miles under my belt on the forestry roads, I need some "bum on saddle" time desperately at the mo .. I think my legs have turned to Haribo

Went up the Wyre for a Reccy this morning, nice and early to avoid the hauds as it was a lovely cold sunny morn Tried to remember what Kalli had told me above, and I'm sure I saw the trails I've been looking for for ages (cheers again Kalli ), but the combination of heavy leaf fall totally covering decents I've never even seen before, and tbh, what looked suspiciously like saplings and brash had been laid across the pretty steep exits .. I decided to just have a ride around that area and get a feel for it, as I haven't been in that wood b4 (prob why I never found the trails in the past ) I do feel a bit like I wasted a ride cus it's rarely dry there this time of year, but it was nice to get over that way again regardless, and opened up a new area to me .. win

Glad you found the exits, they are good fun. I will try and explain how to get to jungle run one of the days, its just a little more complicated to explain. Its up on strava as waterfall. Was a little upset the other week as one of my favourite trails has been closed off by forestry commission for "health and safety" reasons😠 They mean it to, they put a fence up running into the trail, at the section where it runs into a little rocky shoot and at the exit!!! Its called 5 ways drop off on strava. Its up towards button oak, you can see its exit from the main fire road🙁

I think I saw the end of Jungle Run .. it ends at the little bridge over a stream dosent it ? If it's where I think, god knows how you get to the start tho!
I may have seen the exit of the closed trail you mentioned also (?) Is it a fairly hefty steal gate/barrier just off the fire road they've put in ?

Yes jungle run finishes at a little bridge over a stream. I hope it was the barrier over five ways you saw and they haven't closed off any other trails😣 It sounds like you had a good explore, it's a great place to ride over the wyre, one of my favourites.
