I have just got back from the Breacon Beast which was great until the rear swing arm on the frame cracked leaving about 3mm holding the bike together (really glad I stopped for a banana and looked at the bike), when I got back I took it back to the shop and spoke to ATB (Whyte owners) who advised me they know that part has issues which is why they redesigned the part on other bikes.
When I asked why they had not recalled the bikes or advised users of the issue the said " its not affecting all bike only a few" so if you own one of these call ATB and get the part replaced with the new one before it fails and hurts you.
I'll be getting most of my money back but its a real shame as I like Whyte bikes.

Lucky you didn't have an accident. The terrain in Brecon is not easy on bikes. Didn't you finish or have to abandon?

I got an annoying squeak on the 8k climb but fortunately went when I went through some water. Must have been all the red dust getting in the joints somewhere. Your bike would never have made it down the Gap if it was broken that was really tough on every part of the bike and your hands!
I was slower this time round at 5 hrs 22 but got really held up on the first major climb of the day. 5 of us got round without a puncture which was pretty amazing. Great event but probably going to try something different next year like C2C.

top15 .. yah finish it roughly 7hours ..4hrs (ish) on strava moving time...did a lot of stopping tbh. This may sound as an excuse but a lot of things go wrong for me that day, still grateful to finished in one piece though. I will be not be very friendly with other riders and them majestic view next time and concentrate on time.
