I haven't visited for a very long time despite it being pretty close so thought I should visit before it becomes derelict.
Not everybodys cup of tea but many that have a negative experience didn't really know how to connect the two sites or get the most of the trails so do a few circles and head home.
good for all conditions, looking at doing around 16/18 miles with all of the fun stuff, quarry red and butch clenching blacks (if it isn't too windy) and head up for the long roller coaster of the crags followed by the fantastic blast back down.
If any body fancies it, I will be there for 11.30am. let me know and ill tell you a meet point as I prefer not park at the trail head.

Was supposed to be a nice day today but it didn't pan out that way. Got over to Bacup and dropped the kids off with granny for a few hours while I visited lee quarry which is near by. Greeted with "it's been snowing this morning". Once I got up there it was bit wet in places but no snow to be seen although once up towards the crags the puddles were frozen and I was also heading that way. Bloody cold, it was two degrees when I parked up so guess near to or freezing up on the tops. Strong winds spoiled the craggy and I saw sense and missed out the more treacherous stair cases and stuck to mostly the red sections. The last bike park style section has been repaired to a degree where it was affected by the land slip. Moto crossers were out in force today, I saw more motor bikes than mountain bikes which may be a sign of the future as the centre is no longer supported or policed too any degree. Signs of erosion here and there already may make it more interesting in the short to mid term but it may go to far and totally ruin the place. Handy as its close to my parents so can drop them off and have a quick blast whilst the Mrs is working weekends so at least I get out, other than I don't think I will revisit in a hurry. Too cold for too many stoppages just the one snack stop so only hog my phone at once.

did it come with those grips? Saddle looks painful...i would like to try the new Ergon saddle too...looks well thought and comfy, maybe even more than the Fabric. Bike looks great.
Is a visit to the quarry worth it?

How are you getting on with the bike John ? Likey? It's a good fit, seems fast when it's flowy, nice and light and pedals okay or as good as I can uphill. however it seems to rattle a fair bit and I havent figured out the shock yet, if anything my fettling has made it worse. I'll figure it out.

Grips are okay if a little on the thin side.
Saddle is not that comfy so far. There's not much padding on it, hopefully it may improve or my arse will get use to it. If I struggle with it then I will replace it with a fabric scoop.
I changed the front tyre too a 2.5 shorty mid week ready for the gloop, Yu can kind of feel the knobblies on the hard pack trails though.

That's the reason why I didn't go with the Float X2...the tuning options are infinite and I'm not sure I would be able to actually get it spot on, specially since it will depend from ride to ride I guess. The Float X already has enough options!? Lol...you could try and check on TFT website who is the expert mechanic on your shock, give him a ring and ask for a setup for your bike. You might be lucky and get it free! Worth a try! Yeah, at first I thought the grips were a bit thin but they actually work really well, much better than the much thicker Rogues I had before...can't go work with the Fabric saddle but I just wonder if the Ergon is even better?!
