it wont be just yet, more likely beginning of spring, but for a while now iv been wanting to do a snowdon and cadair idris 2 dayer. a loose plan would be to travel to llanberis ride up and down snowdon then stay over somewhere in a B&B then next day ride up and down cadair idris. would anyone else be up for this? i'd also book a nice clear day with the met office to make sure we get the amazing views

I'd be up for this. Been on my list for a while but injuries and other stuff have scuppered plans the last 2 years.

Its quite a tough two days dragging ones self up two large hills, however I would defo consider it nearer to next spring, have to do by end of April yeh to beat the Snowdon ban.
Would be a good idea to head towards Dogleau area and stay around there so handy for Cadir Idris, more to do and better choice of dwellings than Llanberis area.

Isn't bike park Wales near too? It is supposed to be amazing fun...so one day Snowdon and another day of fun descending could also be great...just a thought!?

When we did Snowdon and Coed y Brenin, we stayed here: www.cadairviewlodge.co.uk/ (it's very close to CyB). We did CyB, then Snowdon, then back to CyB over 3 days - amazing trip. Kinda fits in with your route: www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Snowdon/Cadair+View+Lodge,+Trawsfynydd/Cadair+Idris+-+Penygadair/@52.8560228,-4.2474055,10z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m20!4m19!1m5!1m1!1s0x4865098216d283bd:0x7fe2ceeb3aa47434!2m2!1d-4.0762766!2d53.068504!1m5!1m1!1s0x486571c135958f23:0x22258c703e33c3ac!2m2!1d-3.908141!2d52.869108!1m5!1m1!1s0x48657cf4793a27f9:0xc35c157cbf610d8e!2m2!1d-3.9088055!2d52.6996388!3e0 (You'll need top copy/paste the whole link as it didn't resolve when I pasted it).

yeah me and mrs sixo have stayed at cadiar view lodge. that'll be worth consideration depending on how many are interested tho its not just a walk away from a choice of pubs and eating places, whereas llanberis or dolgellau has plenty to go at

Yes cyb is handy in between but I didn't want to suggest another 20 miles or so.
Maybe an afternoons uplift at antur stiniog then you don't need as much pedalling.

Interested dependent on dates.
How about both in the same day? Too much?

Just thinking back to helvellyn forum ride, it was a really good day but all of us wanted more at the end of the ride. The reason Dave and Glynn didn't ride Ullswater after was because they had a 3+ hour drive home afterwards. Just a thought Glynns ride so I'm easy

Snowden, unch 40 minutes to Cyb. Recovered, lap of the mbuk. Digs and evening meal. There's supposed to be lots of good quality bike friendly bunk houses or chalet type accomadations near Cyb.
Early start the next morning head to cadair iris, which is further into Wales so a longer drive back when finished. Up down, lunch and home before the rush hour traffic.
Mid week none school holiday may best for avoiding walkers and cheaper digs and less traffic.

Doing both is possible but theres issues apart from as kirky says it could spoil it by trying to do too much instead of enjoying them separately. If its not perfectly dry it means getting changed again to drive between them or driving in wet clothes. Personally i prefer to do them as seperate rides

That must be me then? Yes of course we can share. But you'll have to be prepared to hold on tight. I might even get up to 75mph

I'd suggest we book some digs in the middle somewhere for towards the end of April but not the easter school holidays. Book it over the next few weeks.
Then we can judge the weather near to the time and choose the order of which one first around the weather (wind strength). That way we have at least a degree of wiggle room rather then fixing only one date and tackling it despite the weather.
