Anyone gone from 1x10 to 1x11??
I managed fine with 1x10 on my covert with a 30T upfront (or might have been at 28T) and an 11-36T cassette
saw that everyone is ranting and raving about 11 speed and 42T cassettes and all that sh1te. is it worth it?

IMO I think it is a worthwhile change but i'm sure others will disagree
Its one of the best moves i've made, I use it with an 34 up front and a 10-42 at the rear, i've never span out coming down and for the likes of Inners and GT I never really run out of leg power coming up, If I was going to do something steeper i'd prob change to a 32 up front

i just think its alot of money
34 at the front and 42 at the back
that is probs exactly the same as a 28 at the front and 36 on the back!!!

I might be old fashioned (2X9) but wasn't one of the main reasons for a triple /double setup to keep a sensibly straight chainline , you must be running at a right twist on a 1X11 system (I could be wrong as I don't feel the need to keep up with fashion so haven't looked into it that much ).

TBH, I havent noticed any issues with chainline, remember, an 11speed cassette is the same width as a 9 and 10 speed cassette it's just the spacings in between that are narrower
