I've had a couple of pairs of Muddy Fox Sports Direct Cheapos... I thought they were okay, but i still got the arse ache after a few hours in the saddle. I got a pair of Mountain Warehouse ones the other day, and i must admit, they are a whole lot better. The padding is thicker and softer, and the shorts are well made...
So i reccomend the Mountain Warehouse ones. They were a birthday gift, but i doubt they're too expensive!

Gore windstoppers...very comfortable Perfect for the coming seasons worn under a pair of baggies.. They do what they say ...stop wind from getting to your nether regions! On the flip side should you fart .. they also provide a very slow release the other way ...

Funnily enough, I was just looking at 661 stuff.. The padded shorts seem a bit pricey though, would you say there worth it?

I have the 661 padded thigh shorts under some endura DH shorts, I'm not a fan of the tampon ones I just go bare back under my shorts.
Got to say though not impressed with 661 clothing! The quality is a bit poor although the pads and helmets are good.

Humvees for me too - though the Fox ones I got cheap from Swinno's have been my fave shorts this summer.
