When out today I got a flat half way round Transmission (Hamsterley) and got me thinking when changing my tube what I should be doing in this situation. Do I 1 Get me and the bike to a safe place out the way of other riders but cause a distraction to them as I'm still on the trail as such? 2 Push the bike quickly to the end but possibly causing a obstruction to riders coming down? I did #1 as I thought it would be best but I would like a bit feedback in case this happens again. And is walking back up the track to see how your G/F is getting on ok as I observed while changing the tube! I just kept thinking "any minute now your going to get very hurt"

Personally I wouldn't walk up a trail but to the side.

Dont think there are any hard and fast rules here ( other than walking back up the trail which should never be done other than in extreme circumstances ...and then only by calling out a warning the whole of the time ! ) Common sense should dictate ... I think it fair enough to repair a puncture trail side .. But as far away from the track so as not to pose a hazard for other riders ..never on a bend always on a straight ... And always facing oncoming riders so that a warning can be given . Walking down the trail poses more of a hazard as you can't see what is coming and should only be done as a last resort

Aye, thought common sense would prevail. I could not believe what I was seeing when I seen the lad walking up, if he was that bothered about the lass he should of stayed behind her. I would of anyway, she had a lush arse!

If you are able to sort the flat then by all means pull off to the side and fix the flat, i've never been put off by someone at the side of the trail fixing a flat! if not then make your way down the side of the trail if possible, if thats not possible then proceed with caution

I believe the correct trail etiquette is to run tubeless.
