I went to the Wrekin me! Ridiculously tough climbs as you would expect and some of the downhills were too steep to walk down, god knows how we rode them! It was made worse by the fact that we are now in autumn and the whole trail was covered in a thick blanket of leaves. All of us had offs yesterday, thankfully nothing major but we all had a great time. There is a really cool jumps section towards the bottom of the hill with step up gaps and berms which was a lot of fun! Not much footage/photo's as I left that up to my mate with the action cam, but here are a few: 1 second of me doing a little drop, that's all my mate could manage to capture apparently! Here is a vid of the other guys: I was excited to get to the top after 25 minutes of climbing: The bike wearing it's new shock, very impressive compared to the monarch: Danny who? All in all a great day, we spent much of it pushing back up though and 'session-ing' sections as it took 25 minutes to get up and about 3 minutes to get down!

Looks good... I spent mine walking around with right index finger pointing upwards following surgery to re-stitch the tip ...and answering way to many posts on here ..bored out of my tits. Roll on Friday when the bandage comes off ..and hopefully the stitches out! How you guys with broken collar bones etc don't top yourselves having to wait 12 weeks or more ...is beyond my comprehension ....

I took my lad up to Baggeridge when it eventually stopped raining. Saw your Wrekin write up on fb. Looked fun.

Wolfie did you do the CYB Enduro? if so how was it? Enduro's are on the 'to do' for next year. It's a good day out all in all, plan to do the long route actually as it is the same distance for the short in the brecon beast, but surprise surprise too many technical black and red in CYB they mixed up.. Legs were knackered at the decision point and decided just to collect my Mug. 640 riders very fun

Sounds great! I really want to try out some Enduro format stuff. I'm tempted by the FOD one next month...I think they ran one at Hopton (or was it Eastridge) this year and I'm off there next week and praying for good weather.
Hodgy it's unlikley you will see anything about the Wrekin, If you live up north it's probably not worth the visit due to all the great stuff you have up there anyway. It's only half an hour for us Midlanders though! It's a great day but it's one of those places where local knowledge goes a long way. The 'trails' are all hush hush end up with logs blocking the entrances to some of them. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone with a low level of fitness though to be honest. It's a lot of VERY steep climbing and could be a bit dis-heartening.

Well crafted natural looking trails ..how do they ride when soaked .. Looks like they could get really gloopy?

I've only been there twice and both times were dry-ish. Like you say they are natural trails with no drainage dug in so I imagine they don't fair well in the winter months. It's a big enough hill for them to run down though!

Nice one. It really is brilliant over there. Best riding in the Midlands, IMO. I need to get back over there soon. A mate has been building a new track and I need to hit that big step up at the bottom as well. The top half of the new track has an average gradient of -35% and the bottom is -50%... *gulp*

Cracking ride up the Wrekin today. Very misty and muddy along the base which we did after the climb/descent.
