Me and Marcbrown made the trip to Afan and Bike Park Wales this weekend . I loved every minute of it . for various reasons I've not been on the bike much of late so I was pretty slow on both the climbs and descents
We drove down on Friday and decided we might as well do The Blade trail at Afan . It's a quality trail (even though you are climbing for an hour straight away) . Most of the trail is singletrack which I liked . The final descent seems to go on for ages and while it was awesome it was also pretty rough . Both of us had aching hands at the bottom .

Saturday we took on the W2 trail at Afan . With not riding so much recently , I knew this would be tough for me . Browny spent a lot of time waiting for me . The ride included quite a lot of fireroad(not helped by 2 sections being closed)and also the same hour climb as the day before . This time it was half way through the ride , just after the lunch stop .W2 also included some brilliant descents . One of which decided to grab hold of my pedal while I was in full flow . Still not sure what I hit but the bike stopped dead and over the bars I went . Luckily , I had a nice soft landing in some brambles . Seems strange saying that but it could've been a lot worse . We got lost a couple of times after missing the signs , as if 28 miles wasn't enough , we managed to take it upto 29

Yesterday was spent at Bike Park Wales . All I can say is , I love it . We only went down 2 bits of black trail all day . The blues and reds have so much speed and flow , we didn't feel the need for the blacks .
A couple of vids from BPW . Yes I know I'm shit at jumping . I gave the camera to browny but it seems to shake quite a bit on him . Maybe should've tightened up the straps ??
A couple of photos from yesterday
