Picked up a canyon Grand Canyon cf slx carbon hard tail frame this lunch time from down Leicester way. making up a Xc build to compliment my Enduro to hopefully cover most terrains, riding types other than DH. Bought. new canyon Grand Canyon cf frame, it's a stunning frame in a lovely smoke grey carbon with acid green detail. Currently at the lbs having bottom bracket and headset pressed as I don't have the tools. The frame is a brand new boxed 2014 frame that the seller had as a crash replacement and didn't get around to building back up. frame came with a cane creek headset. Couple of mech hangers, seat post clamp, a seat post that I won't use. new xt crank. race face narrow wide chain ring. 750 mm carbon flat bars kinesics strut. Spare parts utilised xo 10 speed shifter, xo rear deralaliur. Elixir 7 trail brakes taken off the enduro. rock shox reba rl forks Old whyte Xc wheels ritchey carbon seat post. Hope T. rex 40t expander sprocket so will be 1x10 with a wide ratio to help on the climbs. specialized henge saddle taken from enduro or a fizik aliante cx, both spare, I'll see which is comfiest. xt clip less pedals. specialized 60mm stem from the enduro. had a new chain kicking around. not sure of tyres yet. hopefully should make up look like the below and weigh just under or over 10kg, I'm eager to piece it together and find out.

Sorry to have mislead or confused you, I say I'm hoping mine will look something I've this. The picture isn't my bike ad I haven't built it yet.
Ps what's wrong with carrying extra fluids on a Xc ride? I wouldn't have one on my full suss but getting enough fluids down you is important on a longer ride.

It will be a flyer. I say keep tha water holder on an XC bike, sometimes I just cant be bothered with a Camelbak when doing a quick XC loop round the Pentlands

Just know that thing will fly. It might do with another rider on it.
I plan to use this on steady moorland trails, things like the Mary townley Loop etc and took some of the wear and tear from Enduro and my knees on these types of rides.

Just my opinion obvs but bottles ruin the look of a bike and I am averse to getting my gob around something covered in badger shit. Camelbak all day long. Small and light Lobo for the summer/quick blasts..Hawg for all dayers. Plus I am a proper fluids bloke on rides - both bags have a 3ltr bladder, not enough in a bottle for me.
