Heres my bike... Many have probably seen it on MTBE but thought i'd put it up here aswell... Basically, i've spent quite alot of money changing pretty much everything on the bike. The only stock parts are: Frame, Wheelset, Brakes, Seatclamp, Headset Cups, Rear QR!! Everything else has been slowly upgraded. My last big change was converting from the 3x9 set up to 1x10. I really do love the bike, its a great little ride! Since i've been riding my new fixie, I've started to appreciate this bike abit more now. It is very capable, and i love the way it handles. I feel like im sat in the bike, not on top of it. I've now got it set up pretty much perfectly, and it is real fun to ride. However, i wouldn't mind going to something with abit more travel, because it sometimes lacks ability when the going gets rough... Its served me very well, and now, with the upgrades, i really do enjoy riding it!

Thanks guys,
Am really impressed with it... Great budget bike to start off with as the Specialized Frames are always well designed and well built. The componentry let the bike down but I've now amended that!
I've been looking online for a set of 100/120mm Air forks but none have really taken my fancy. The frame is set for 80mm forks with a maximum increase of 10% so thats 90mm. I think i'd be able to get away with 100mm, the A to C of the Rockshox Forks is probably longer than the stock Suntours anyway so i think i could get away with it as its been fine for the last year and a half! A few mm of travel would slacken it up abit more, which is always good! Just dont want the BB rising up to much and the seattube angle too slack

I reckon 120mm forks would be pushing it a little too far. 100mm should be absolutely fine though and give you that little extra.

Yeah they are both very similar in terms of colour and design... Thank you Wolfie!
It did have an Octolink when i brought it but the cranks were shite so i swapped them out for Deore Hollowtech II... Running a stock Deore one at the moment

Yeah, you'll have to find out what size BB its running atm (68 or 73mm) then just use the correct amount of spacers. I think the difficulty may be with Square Taper BB's, as they can come in weird sizes, but Octolink is fine Cheers Euans! Yeah i think the newer models have dropped down in spec considerably tho I've seen some good Hardrock Builds on the interweb, i think its due to the decent frame which is a good base to start with! I didnt really look at many bikes before buying (yes, i was a total noob) but i spotted a 2011 Hardrock in my LBS and the guys gave a good load of detail on it.. Turns out the newer model had just been released so after having a look at it with them online, i decided it was the bike for me!
