Well the long winter nights will soon be upon us, this year i'm not going to let it stop me so i've decided to buy some lights. The ones I ended up ordering are from MTB Batteries and I went for the Lumenator & Lumen800 Combo pack. I think that should be enough light for me

Very nice light set but to be honest my SOLARSTORM X2 5000 Lumens £85 cheaper and do the same job though the build quality wont be as good they sure put enough light out for night riding and i purchased a better power pack than the shit one supplied

Yes, I've got the cheap Chinese ones and tbf they kick out plenty enough light but you never feel comfortable leaving them charging un-watched. I bought them as a cheap way to get into night riding in case I didn't get into it - well I love it and will eventually get better built, UK made lights. I might be wrong but I think that MTB batteries are just down the road from me in Lichfield, I'll pop in at some point and have a squint. A lot of money but at least buying local there is no hassle with any repairs - plus I happen to know the lads at MTB batteries have a really good rep for after sales care.
Good choice Euan.

I have the chinese jobbies too and yes i always keep an eye on them when charging. To be honest I would love lights without wired batteries like the exposures but they are way too expensive

To be honest I would love lights without wired batteries like the exposures but they are way too expensive In the current climate ..the Exposures are not worth the money ..and other than being wire free are completely out performed by the SECOND generation Chinese lights which have a built in coolant and the build quality is every bit as good as anything else out there . I paid £ 90.00 ( discounted) for a set of Sanguan lights kicking out 2700 lumens which I helmet mount ..and have my Exposure Enduro Maxx on the bars ...but if I had to choose only one set to go out with ...it wouldn't be the Exposures .

I've got cheapo chinese lights - plenty bright enough. Beam's a bit spotty so have ordered a diffusser lens to even it out a bit. Realised last night that I don't like solo night riding - sacked it after a mile or so

The lights turned up today so i'll be out at GT tonight for my first ever night ride. Cant wait!
First impressions of the lights are good, nice and compact, well made and don't weigh that much, also the battery pack attach to the frame well or have a long enough cable for the helmet mount to fit in the bag

You are gonna love it ... If you have the option ...helmet mount .. Better to look at what you want to see rather than where the bars are pointing... Enjoy !!

Yeah, I have both options, I have the double barrel one for the bars and a singe for the helmet, had a quick play around with them in the house and it's like daylight with them all on lol

it is amazing the first time you try the lights compared to my last set of lights at university in 1994! I'm often flashed by cars as they are too bright.
