Decided to take plunge and try 1x10 on yeti. I very rarely used the granny ring anyway I just have a feeling I may miss it riding natural trails in peaks...We shall see.

Good man. You won't regret it. I went 1x10 for the first time recently - on the Yeti I bought as it happens - and think it's great. What size of ring did you go for?...

Went for 34, as I was running 24/34 on the double set up and pretty much used the 34 98% of time.

Will see how I go but may end up on 34 as well. I was surprised what I could get up on the 36 so doubt you'll regret it even at the Peaks. Worst case scenario, get a cassette extender ring or drop down to the 32 up front. Bike looks great.

If I miss it too much ill just put the 2x10 back on I don't like pushing lol. I didn't really mind the extra shifter and mech just want to.give it a go really.

Looks good mate, any chainline issue with the XT double and have you added a expander sprocket on the cassette? Thinking about doing this myself, just worried about losing the granny ring hmmmm

Chainline seems good. No I haven't bothered with an expander cog for the back.it does look like it on that picture but it's the brake disk behind it lol.

1x10 on both mine Matt both using RF n/w 34t. In fact both bikes are using the same setup baring the cranks ones SLX the other is truvativ but will be SLX.
You wont regret it mate and it looks cleaner which is a bonus.

I use the granny loads though as I prefer just spinning up any hills rather than powering up them. Think I'll get away with a 34t upfront if I use a 40/42t expander at the back

Bikes looking good mate. you'll be fine with the single, I dont actually know anyone who has went back to a double/triple setup! Mate ive told ya before, I managed without a granny so u can!!!!! Think I'll get away with a 34t upfront if I use a 40/42t expander at the back Thats the same as me, i'm happy spinning away as long as it's not to slow lol. i've a 34 up front and I tent to use the 36 more than the 42 at the rear, if i'm using the 42 then you can bet it's bloody steep or im being a lazy twat

That way I'll have it if I ever need it, the whole bike is going to get completely stripped down over the winter anyway so it makes sense to do it all at once
