so last week I notice the thru Axel was a bit loose so I gave it a tighten, I think I may have tightened it too much as I heard a crack, that's when I decided to stop the front wheel spins freely no wobble but I now can't get the bugger off! ive tried the other side to release the Axel but it got to the point where I was applying a certain amount of pressure and the hex key started to slip and the last thing I want to do is round the Axel release off! any tips? much appreciated Duke

only sugestion i can make is hammer in a larger size alan key and turn gently. either that or go from the oposite side if possibly and try to turn it our clockwide somehow. pics would help buddy. give us an idea of the sort of thru axle it is.
what forks they off.

;)i had to do one recently on my lads bike. i used a torx head rather than an alan head so tapped in better but still bit when i turned it. usually with forks you just crack the axle to unlock then spin free if that makes sense

if they work dont matter what they are bud. i had a claud butler when i started out with suntours on which were mint although real basic, if you can get a long torx lever then the leverage will be better. i have a set of the longer ones and work great. only cheap to. amazing you dont need park tools to work on bikes.

Haha yeah, never understood why you would pay so much for park tools when you can get the exact same stuff without the branding for less than half the price!

Just want to say thanks mate, a longer alan key did the trick, more leverage is all that was needed!
