We did everything we could. A lad was already on the CPR (I echo iRide here, I was glad it wasn't me) so we rode back to the paramedic who was on foot, I tried to get him to jump on my bike to get there quicker but the bloke is a professional and knew what he was doing, he just pointed at the circling helicopter and said 'they'll get there before me anyway' It's the feeling of being helpless that's the worst, the lad on CPR was doing it right and didn't need help. I'm confident the little girl was given every chance, it was a Sunday and busy, she was receiving CPR within seconds of going down. The emergency staff, as ever, were brilliant. I know that me and Jay didn't speak for a long time when we came away and had a coffee, as the air ambulance took off we both said a silent prayer. It's wank at times, life is. I won't forget the picture of the Dad and his other daughters for a very long time. The poor fuckers. Don't really know what else to say, still waiting news from the Wife. I admit it's got to me, shed a few tears last night, must have affected me a lot worse than I thought. This is why I don't believe in God. Why would he put the parents through something like this? How is it fair for a 10 year old to die? How is it fair for kids to die? One of my ex's a few years ago, her brother died and it affected her so much. Must have been awful for her. Life just isn't fair is it?? My thoughts exactly . What god would put a family through that ?

Fucking hell. This is awful. Thoughts are with her family.
Jay and 'Zulu, can't imagine how you guys must feel - couldn't bring myself to read exactly what happened but safe to say I would have been in bits.
Well done to you two for staying in the situation.
Fuck man, life can be cruel.

As far as I'm aware, most Air Ambulance services are run through charity and not directly though the NHS, at least the 2 in my area and neighboring county are. A quick google has brought up this: www.midlandsairambulance.com/

Just terrible, I agree with betty and think we could all club together a decent donation of some sort as the air ambulance wouldn’t exist without donations
Also rams home the fact that I need to pull my finger out and do a first aid course to at least learn the basics in case I was first on the scene at something similar

My heartfelt sympathy to the bairns family ..at times like these no words are ever enough.. If it is not too much trouble maybe you local guys could watch the press to see if the family let it be known if there is a preferred charity for donations first. Maybe it's because I have a son of a similar age ..but this has really got to me ....

Its horrible to hear things like this, Its a parents worst nightmare. That family must feel ripped apart and my thoughts and wishes to go them.
Moto and iride your both probably feeling like crap now, You did what you could to assist, Just think even the professionals couldn't do more with all their equipment and training.
You tried guys that's what counts.
RIP little un.

i always carry a small first aid kit sinc doing my first aid at work course this year you just never know even sterile cleaning wies will make a difference to stop infection after all how many of us get little cuts off the dirt .
a course is a good idea also knowing that 112 from a smart phone will give them a good gps signal of were you are . my first aid kit was only £5 from halfords but it has a silver blanket in it for keeping warm and all sorts of goodies .
i recomend it to everyone

Yes, I took the first aid course through work with half an eye on how it might be useful out on the trails, Can't recommend it enough, you just never know. As it happens the lad first on the scene and his mate did a brilliant job in giving her her best shot with CPR - I wish I had asked him his name but the 4 of us were just a bit numbed and it just seemed a surreal situation to find yourself in. Ok it didn't work this time sadly but just knowing that number that Bob put up and the basics of CPR could save another, luckier, one's life. RIP bab.

Condolences to her family its something no parent should have to even think about.
First aid kits can be life savers foil blankets especially. Ive got one i picked up from sports direct in my pack which ive added bits too. A ride or something to raise awareness is well deserved, if i can ill see about coming up for it.

Found out a little more but obviously, due to the circumstances, I can't say too much out of respect. The family weren't local but were holidaying in the area and the little girl was 11. She had the best treatment possible in the circumstances but wasn't to be. No history of any heart problems just totally out of the blue. Speaking to the paramedic in attendance, she just had no chance despite all of the immediate care she had.
Just very, very sad and I can only echo what has been said and give heart felt condolences to her family.

This is awful. Thoughts and condolences to the family. That poor father and the two siblings. Just terrible.
I have taken my eldest out to the local trial by me, she's 9. Makes you think and possibly hit home a few hard truths.
Life sucks sometimes.
