Very good read, a lot of truth in that I'm guessing. We're probably one of the worst of the lot for 'Emperors new clothes' are us MTB mob.

Can't help thinking that may have been slightly sponsored by Mondraker.... I have stated previously that I would really like to test ride a Mondraker Foxy ..for many of the reasons stated in this article ..not that I think I'm a good enough rider to do it full justice ..but the article I read in What Mountain Bike( when it won their bike of the year ) said that it both climbed and descended better than anything else on test ..( due to the slacker head angle and longer wheelbase) and that was the opinion of everyone who slung a leg over it ! They did in the same article say to consider the Santa Cruz 5010 ..which I have ridden ..and that instantly made me a better rider/ covered up a lot of my deficiencies So the good news is ...we are all riding a heap of shit...wonder when the industry will catch on !!!! Lol.
