I basically want to ride the Wall. The history around that part of our country frankly fascinates me.

I basically want to ride the Wall. The history around that part of our country frankly fascinates me. Walking the wall would be better...there is very little offroad that is open to bikes and the B road ( military road ) that runs along the interesting sections is so straight ( well the Romans did build it !) ..that it is downright dangerous to be on a bike due to the speed of cars going along it . As a World Heritage site there were increasing concerns due to the fact that it is becoming more and more popular to reduce the amount of people using it due to the erosion the footfall was causing I have always believed that the wooly hat brigade cause more damage in the countryside !

To be fair it's reputation goes back a couple of decades and things are much improved now ( did I get out of that ok?) Yes ..we sometimes need to remind ourselves how fortunate we are to have some fantastic /iconic scenery on our doorstep

It's had it's problems and still does but it's no better or worse than some of the other towns in south east Northumberland in my opinion. I spent the first 20 odd years of my life there and loved every minute of it Yeah we're very fortunate to have what we do, and the best thing about it is there isn't loads of people to spoil it

What do you do up there Jay? My ex birds mam lived in Morpeth and I fell in love with the place. Proper nice quaint little town. There are a couple of reasons. Now n then, I get a fully expenses paid trip up to Newcsatle with work.. The other reason is that I have a few friends in Morpeth, Ashington and Blyth. I love going up there! It's almost a completely different culture to down here.. Can't argue with free trips up there, the night life is pretty good too

Nice piccy's Neil it was a great ride, and a very fine day out! I had'nt ridden any of those tracks before, but am certainly going back again soon... like tomorrow actually! I guess we were lucky to get a good, dry 6 hour outing with such fine visibility at this time of year. And none of it was really mucky either, bike just needed brushing off and chain cleaned the next day. Worth mentioning that Belford tearooms does really good choccy cake, wouldn't have made the climb up to the Newlands Moor viewpoint without it!

Can't argue with free trips up there, the night life is pretty good too The best nights out I've had have been in Newcastle! Had a few good times in Morpeth too despite it's tiny size. Never had a night at Whitley Bay but just looking at the place, you know it'll be a good night! Used to spend a few hours in the Fox Cover in Ashington before heading into town.. Not done that for an age now though!

Ha ha, I've heard of it's reputation! There's a nice fish & chip shop right on the sea front that does all kinds of different flavoured ice cream too. My boy loves it. We'll often head off toward Whitley Bay too to a little playground and then play on the beach. There's a pub just across the road called The Astley Arms (I think). Been to Asda too haha nice pic jay he's got your ears
