Welcome dude, quite a few of the members here are Cannock locals, so no doubt you've seen them a couple of times. Only been once myself but loved every second of it.

Enjoy mate and welcome from another of the Roojelly Chapter (we're taking the Chase back) I'm intrigued I love the chase and exploring but getting fed up with dropping back into trails and being held up and having no fun guess the popularity of the sport is not helping

You'll have to come out with the Cannock/Roojelly chapter. We don't bother with the Donkey much but normally ride the cheeky/off piste trails instead.

All times mate - me and irideabike are shift workers so tend to ride midweek in the mornings, though we do do weekends when not working.

Jon... Dont know if I am picking things up the wrong way and you are just trying to impress everyone with how fast you think you are ...but irrespective of where you ride .. The trails weren't exclusively built just for you ...if someone is in front of you and is holding you up ..then too bad they have as much right as anyone else to be there ..hold back a while to let them complete the section ..then you can go as fast as you like Just chill man !

So what do comments "like being held up and having no fun "..and "having to spend the afternoon with the slow people" supposed to mean ... The impression I got was that you were some sort of race whippet ..with no time for anyone else ...

The impression I got was that you were some sort of race whippet ..with no time for anyone else ... Anyone who rides the chase regularly, specially at busy times will know exactly what the guy means,it's a proper procession some times. Jay (iride) took us on my first off piste ride at cannock last week and it was a totally different world.

Ok ...then if I have picked up the wrong end of the stick ..my sincere apologies to Jon . I'm probably ignorant of the fact ..and being used to the trails I ride being relatively quiet ..as to just how busy things are down there . Again my apologies...and I hope you find some good riding buddies out of these guys ...

Yes mate we are on strava (though only to keep track of the miles really) Irideabike is as fast uphill as I am down, but we ride with people anywhere between the two extremes of me and him I know exactly what you mean about the Donkey, of a weekend people are queueing to get on it! As cogger says, the off piste totally different.

Hello and welcome Jon. I ride at the chase with my sons. We where there yesterday and the monkey was dead compared to the dog. My youngest lad is new to mtb'ing so is still fairly slow. We just let the speed demons pass when the trail allows.
