Yes ..until water gets over the top of the socks ..and inside the cuffs of the gloves ..or you get a hole in them ! As a direct barrier though ..they are very good

I am just wondering if it's worth spending on some quality gear as it's always my excuse not to ride now till March April and it pisses me off not riding

Never tried the gloves but the socks are fantastic although I still get cold feet so I wear trainer socks on very cold days.
I got mine for free but would be very happy to pay whatever they cost when it's time to replace them.

I rate my sealskinz. I have three different types of socks gloves and skull cap. The guy on other side was Andy ? But they were full length army issue socks. Still good but green.

I'd not recommend purchasing such items through Ebay, unless of course it's through and official shop distributor. There are a lot of fakes! On-one funnily enough are doing some cracking deals on winter stuff, as a heads up!...

I've used them a lot but for fell running in winter where you regularly have to contend with deep icy water.
Water does get over the top but once it's in there it stays fairly warm, whereas with ordinary socks the water gets replaced every time you get sprayed or submerged. The sealskins stay warmer as a result.

I like my Sealskinz, I find that if it's wet and water does get inside them then they act as a kind of wetsuit and heat the water up to keep the feet warmish.

The socks are £22.95 on chain reaction cycles if that helps. My husband swears by them. Theres nothing more miserable than cold wet toes on ride, especially when you're miles from home
