Ere we go...another so called 'maaaayn' that shuns those of us with a pussy cog and yet spends hundreds extra for a built in pussy cog. Care to explain the difference, big boy? Weight saving? I'm sure that will be the excuse....

If it's build in, it doesn't count..? Aaaah, I see - so if you spend hundreds more then a pussy cog is called something different? I like that. It's becomes the 'look how poor I've become cog' - sobbing optional.

Ha ha I love that - when I see iRides or anyone else's 1x11 set up I'm going to fling myself on the floor, bowing. If I call it a posh pussy cog he'll get his minions to deal with me Vive la revolution!

On a posh 1 x 11 it's called an en-suite pussy cog.

Just be happy.. I've never actually disagreed with pussy cogs per say.. I disagree with using them with mechs that weren't designed for them.... AND ALL THE SUBSEQUENT MOANING.

Just ordered a SRAM XX1 groupset and Chris King bottom bracket for the build.. Just two big purchases left now, forks (BOS Deville) and wheels (Enve M60 FORTY). Total cost so far = £2224.94. It's coming together nicely but I won't be buying anything else until after Christmas now Lovely love CK stuff!...

If you want the best SRAM do then it comes as 11 speed and you don't really have a choice, same as buying a complete bike now, most decent ones come 1x11 If however you bodge your existing cassette and mech to fit a girly big ring then that is what makes you a pussy 32 and 1x10 is enough for anyone think I even convinced myself with that one

Blimey blokes I was only having a larff! Pussy cogz rulez. It does seem that most bikes over 2 grand are coming supplied with the new 1x11 too, whether you want it or not.

Yes, spose you could, I probably wouldn't though Hopefully the cost of replacing them will come down now so many bikes are having it as standard.

To be fair, I'd be asking me questions too If I were you.. After all I've said about 'pussy cogs'. I didn't buy it for the big rear sprocket though and If I had of done, I'd have ruined it all by buying a 36t front ring I bought XX1 after hours (literally) of research on the web.. It's THE best shifting system available today, reviews wise! (dream bike etc) Time will tell if I can tell any difference between this and my XT shizzle lol PS, My mech any good to you?

Mate I have been a lazy bleeder these last 3 days - got Euan's spare mech cages and your mech sat in the garage and haven't even looked at sorting it yet. Mojo has fecked off with the shoite weather. I'm on nights tonight, Sat, Sun then got 15 days off so I will get around to it before Monday.
If the cages go on ok I'll return the mech to you, if I use it I'll sort summat out with you. Haven't rode in a week now, hopefully the break will do me good.

As for the 1x11 I was just pulling all the anti pussy coggers plonkers - just thought it funny that you've all got em now. I fully realised that it's because that's how things are going (1x11) but I wasn't going to let that get in the way of a wind up. You bunch of 11-42 pussy's.

Not rode in 3 weeks now apart from a tootle to a cashpoint in town. I'm hoping to get out Sunday with *deep breath* Keith. I'm on my last night tonight, bleeding my brakes tomorrow after I get up, hope to ride Sunday and back to work for 'rescue at height' refresher Monday. Basically, 1 day off ffs..

Late in the day but for anyone worrying about BOS servicing- don't! J-tech service them and do a good job, they use the same seals and foams as fox 34's, had my old set done twice (stil for sale also) they are a reliable fork, and the feel is worth the outlay.

Thanks for that. I had kind of made my mind up to get Deville's but had slight doubts with regards to servicing.. What you've said is a great help, thanks

You'll love them.
