I did one with a few mates a couple of months ago at www.ukbikeskills.co.uk/ - really good. Cost was about £80 for 4 hours, which was enough to be honest. They do do all day courses, but we thought it better to start off with a half day. Learnt a lot, and still trying to put it into practice now. Well worth the money.

I did a trail skills course at Cannock yesterday with the bikeschool. nothing too rad, just doing the basics properly (I thought I was doing them right,but.....) started with bike set up.i thought mine was spot on for me but I made some slight adjustments to levers, shifter and suspension.it felt terrible for the first 10 minutes but after that it felt like I`d been riding with them set like that forever.moved on to technique for flat, loose corners and then moved onto berms, choosing lines, spotting braking, entry and exit points.as I say, nothing too extreme, just ditching bad habits and doing it properly. maximum 6 riders but only 4 of us plus 2 guys who are doing the mias teaching course next week so it was almost one to one. £55 for 10am -3pm with 30 mins lunch break. they also do a jumps and drops course too,£35 for 3 hours at stile cop dh course. This one zulu. bugger, forgot the link www.thebikeschool.net

He did say that if I sent any 'undesirables' his way, he would increase the price to put them off. I paid half price... Incidentally, I'm having further DH coaching with them at Farmer Johns when Conor returns from Spain!

That's ok mate I was thinking after Crimbo anyway - give me time to save up for it. I'm thinking of doing the 'stabilizers and pink handlebar tassles' course

I've had quite a bit of training with a few different people: Cyclewise obviously my top one as they were my first, they talent spotted me and got me riding and racing how I do now. They often do skills taster sessions in school hols too if you've got kids, like a couple of hours pretty cheap etc. Based at Whinlatter. Dirt School - Glentress/Innerleithen. Having one session a month with these through Scottish Downhill Academy team until March and we have another this weekend. Really impressed so far. Ben Cathro - Scotland, will travel. Awesome, had a session on Friday before a race, felt like it was nothing out of this world until it came to racing then I realised what if learnt on Friday. I have a day with him booked in spring. Endeavour Coaching - based at Hamsterley. Had a DH day, was great fun and really boosted my confidence until I was sending gaps I'd usually just pumped through previously.

Same guy I had mine with awesome for quick progression on jumps and drops, might do another day in the spring along with a broader skills day somewhere else
