I know, functionally, it doesn't matter one bit, but it does make a bike look a bit unloved. Edit - ha ha, looks like you've taken an angle grinder to it

Not looking at the bike as I'm sick at looking at things I can't have. As for the chainstay I just wrap old innertube around mine, if you take your time putting it on it looks ok.

Christ that's cheap...... Definitely a good buy for someone. The paint on them is pretty soft, having said that you'd think they would have put something on the chainstay. I often think about getting a new trail bike but honestly don't know what I'd replace it with as it's brilliant at what it does.

Why did I look! Yet yet something else I would like. Make a nice bike to strip down and rebuild with new bearings, powder coat and so on.

To be fair, the guy could just want to be rid of it, new upgrade and having it sat in the garage isn't doing anyone any good, so prices it to sell. I've done it before with stuff, I'd rather have the money in my bank than have an item listed for months waiting for someone to take it at asking.
