Faniced a winter project so ive decided to strip and spray my trainer bike its a little tatty in places and i dont like the loud shouty Carrera branding on the downtube. Any advice on removing the paint? Ive started on small parts the brake levers are semi done and the body is coming along slowly thats all been with sandpaper though an has taken an age. Any advise would be great.

I used nitromors when I re painted my old BMX, whack it all over, leave it, paint just scrapes off, re apply for any stubborn bits

Sounds like thats going to be the way forward with a dremel and polishing pad to lift the bit around welds and eyelets. I wasnt sure if it would damage the metal or cause problems painting after.

Personally for the £30 it'll cost you having it powder coated I wouldn't bother, just find your local powder coater and ask them to strip and coat it what ever colour your after.
I have a guy in Castleford who's done a few things for me now including a couple of bikes. Its been a perfect job and all for £30-£40

Just had a look, didnt know you could get that kind of finish (shiny as buggery) through powder coat. Looks like ill be seeing if anyone can do a very deep met purple then!
