It looks really gnarly! I'll need a gonad transplant before trying it.

I'm surprised they don't have grippy stuff on the boardwalk already. All the board at Fort William is covered in chicken wire.
They can be like ice in the wet with no grip down.
That one by t d and H is very steep. Rode half of it once but real slow as can't get speed up. Decided to stop and go back onto the red lol

I've done all the black options a few times and prefer the red to be honest. The black by T,D & H does look a bit scary but if you carry speed through, it's really not difficult.
I did a build day a couple of years back and speaking with the trail builders there, was told that chicken wire will never be used at Cannock Chase. I don't know why, they didn't answer that question.

I've asked about it and was told it wouldn't be used. I've asked countless times for some log skinnies too. Deaf ears. I mean you could add some of those in a day easy. The one skinny that used to be on the Monkey was removed ages ago too. Shame as I never did manage to get across it completely haha.. I agree though, skinnies would be good and add to the challenge a bit.

Forestry Commisson in England will not use Chicken wire for H&S reasons. We put "gripper boards " on some of the woodwork features at Kielder and they seem to work quite well.... For whatever reason in Scotland chicken wire seems to be acceptable ..I don't understand why this should be ... Surely when we undertake riding at trail centres we are accepting of the fact that there is risk involved and that injury may occur ... But the F.C.are totally paranoid that someone is going to sue them big-time!

Speeeeeeed is your friend Apparently, the very first boardwalk/rock part is called 'the qualifier' and if you struggle on that, you should exit back onto the main trail by the path they put in specially! Kind of a test before the final exam sort of thing..

I watched the comp on it the other month and was watching closely for lines. That last section worries me most, especially as i saw hom many pro's/racers stuggle. I'll give it go me, no worries. I came off a black skinny at Dalbeattie that was about 8' in the air. I just wheelied off and prayed. So the boardwalks don't scare me the rocks.... Looking at the photos it's the other for me. I don't mind smashing through a rock section, but put me near some skinnies and suddenly I have the grace and poise of a 4 minute old giraffe on ice.
