Hope they start selling these in 30.9, I can't afford the Stealth one I want at the moment, this could tie me over til I can save up.

When I pedal, if I free wheel it stops, can feel it through the crank arms very slightly too. Bottom Bracket? But it's not that old, maybe only 300 miles old?
What do you reckon?

Looks really nice that mate! Love the finish and the forks. I've got bags and bags of good quality spare parts from all the bikes I've built, especially stuff like brake mounts, nuts and bolts that people always forget about. You know my number, give me a bell if there's anything you need mate. I'm building 2 bikes at once at the moment so loads knocking about.

These are not the wheels that will be on the finished bike, I'm waiting for a part for some Easton Vice from Silverfish, hopefully will have it within the month.

I'll be having carbon seatpost and bars. Stem I'll wait for, expensive for what they are. I've got Giant SXC-2 wheels to go on while I wait for Silverfish to get the part in for my Easton Vice, but eventually I'll invest in some carbon wheels too, £250 on Superstar and they're light as anything.
It's a bike that's going to be functional in so many ways, long distance and the charity road rides I do, commuter, and when the weathers awful and in winter I can use it for road riding too. It also keeps me interested looking for bits and bobs that are lighter than what I've got, know that sounds sad!

Pace Titanium/Carbon Forks FSA Headset Specialized Stem (this is an old stem from the bottom of my spares box but its way lighter than a Thomson X4 that i've got)

Ralphs on front or back?
I'd consider semi slicks though if there are any decent one that won't pop every time I use them?

They're going to be for fast, long distance XC riding, I have Ardent and Ardent Race on my Whyte and love them. I'm not too bothered about big, nobbly tyres. If I'm doing major off road riding I'll use the main bike. Weight and fasty rolling are the main things I want.

For my uber light Whippet build.
What would you go for?
I'm having a mooch about at what's out there today.

Got my Whippet with a press fit BB, I've never had one before, is there anything I need to know about them? Fitting, spacers etc?
Cheers

Just purchased a Whippet Frame. Red and White. Going to try and build a stupidly light long distance XC ride. Think this frames a decent place to start.
Got some Easton Vice Wheels to go on too, decent weight at 1800g for the pair too.
I'll look for some Carbon Rigid Forks too.
This will be a long project, any ideas will be welcome!
I'll post pics of frame once I've collected it.
Excited!

Cheers lads.
I've got a short stem. I'll try some gloves with more padding then maybe if that doesn't work might have to invest in some higher rise bars.
