I fancy doing the pen y gent (foxup) ride out of Horton in Ribblesdale sometime soon. It's in this weeks mbr but I also have the map and written point to pint route from pedal north. It's around 16 miles and can easily be combined with the best bits of a loop of Clapham/feizor. im up for that john

Well we must have made the same mistake when we tackled it Glynn ..cos I don't recognise anything on that vid ..but what you did looks more familiar ! yes mate, the vid is the same as the route we did a couple of years ago, and i had a feelng it would be easy to miss when im not familiar with it. makes me want to go back again tomorrow to put things right with meself

just found this vid on youtube of the gunnerside ghyll descent. this is the way we should have gone.so looks alot like the icy one we tried was the wrong one. look how vague the trail is right at the start there does also look to be another option from an MBR route www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=jlpkxedgxaosdfdq

agree hodgy, i didnt clean it in good conditions, there was at least one section where i had to walk but IIRC it was 95% ridable. having said that i can imagine that this is one of those trails that can change if its been washed away with weather conditions. also looking forward to seeing any vid footage........................jack and gaz?

fair enough! just be very careful about having a 3rd party make any alterations to the frame. the warrenty will become void.

just seen your posts gonzalo, sorry to hear your not happy as its supposed to be a custom build. the very scinical old bugger in me wonders if the frame was already made with the cable lugs and they are trying to sell it to you............i could easily be very wrong. were you aware that they would be included?

excellent day today, windy i like the shot looking down gunnerside ghyll. even tho that was a big disappointment with it being so unridable with the sheet ice and snow.beautiful day to be out on a winter ride.heres a few pics the infamous fremmy edge climb as usual this little descent was much steeper than it looks in this pic climbing to great pinseat us dunt look like but we were still heading upwards jack descending towards gunnerside

i make that 10 of us now. as its going to be a cold day, i'd recommend taking something to keep you warm for if we're standing around (mechanicals, punctures) like a warm dry layer, beanie hat and spare pair of gloves.a bigger rucksak is needed tomorrow me thinks.

Not me now unfortunately as car has blown oil feed pipe to turbo so will be under a bonnet all day Saturday. Joys of cheap bike barge motoring. Thankfully recognised what it was in time and saved turbo and engine. Should have stayed in the little 1.0litre Corsa. Bugger Mike I wanted someone to ride push up with up them hills yeah! yeah gaz!...................... so thats either 4.9 or 5.9 of us so far.

right lads (and lasses if any's thinking of it) could we have a show of hands for saturday? so we know who to expect.forecast is for a bright sunny day but possibly snow today or tomorrow. 9.30 start. as gaz suggests you might want to bring lights but shouldnt need to use them. what you will need tho is plenty of food and drink on the go.should be a good winter ride this! if theres quite a few of us, it might be an idea to keep a count of riders as you confirm....cheers

john dont worry pal.as i say there are bailout options back, for anyone who feels they've had enough climbing by the time we've got to gunnerside. there seems to be quite a good number of us, we'll all help each other along. im looking forward to it, i havnt done a big ride for a while.
