Munky, inbetween insulting his betters and sitting on his arse all day, has come up with the alternative and rather motherfecking spiffing suggestion of Penmachno or the Marin trail on the Satdee.
We need to have a bit of a think about the Satdee I think. CYB is feckin tough, me being an athlete, I don't want to peak too early!

Just a taster mate, looks good fun and trail is in 2 loops, so some of us, with an eye on Snowdon the next morning! may fancy the shorter loop while the proper gnarly lads can do the full 30km loop.
There are lots of YouTube vids of the Penmachno trails, have a gander and see what you think.
Another bonus is it's only half hours drive from Snowdon digs. Just a suggestion as I've done CYB and fancy summat different. Will go with the concensus though, obviously.

If we decide on penmachno then the start is at llanrwst so might be worth checking out b&bs near there. It's also only 17 miles from llanberis so only a short drive between the two. Only a suggestion though, if the majority want to do CyB then fuggit, we'll do that. I've done the Beast once and it just seemed like a lot of punishment for very little reward. It was on a hardtail though so quite a lot of holding on for dear life while bouncing off everything.

It is only a suggestion btw - not trying to hijack the thread. Munky reckons there are several options in the area (all he does at work is search on MTB trails all shift) so shout up anyone if they see another good venue for Satdee?
I'm really looking forward to this. I'm that excited I've decided to cut down on the ales and up the training big style so as to enjoy the weekend properly.
Roll on!

I'm guessing so mate - I could do Sunday too but a lot will be at work on the Monday. Also it isn't sure yet that CYB is deffo the venue for the Satdee activities - anyone know of a b+b closer to Penmachno trails?
Also a pub is an absolute necessity, us being top level athletes.
