I've been looking at floating rotors from Uberbike or Superstar and wondered if any body had used either and could recommend one or the other. Both are similar prices and have the colour scheme I need.
Also looked at Hopes version but they are £15 to £20 more per rotor, are these much better or would the difference in performance be negligible?
Cheers.

What brakes do you have?
By law, you should have matching rotors.

Hope brakes with Shimano rotors, mostly keeping them to annoy Betty now But keep away from Superstar, I had some and they really didn't feel all that powerful, moved over to the Shimano ones and they're much better.

Tbf mate.... .......I had zee brakes with shimano rotors...sold the brakes, kept the rotors and used them with hope M4 brakes Then I realised the errors of my ways and got some hope discs lol. Tbf I do honestly think the hope discs are better.

For fear of fuelling all the haters I daren't mention brakes I have, they came on the bike and I haven't had a bad enough experience to switch them over yet. I have some Guide RS that I bought ready to switch but have them on the hard tail for now, I may switch over when the time comes. I have the centreline rotors also on that bike which are squeal free as advertised.
I just fancied a bit of red bling to compliment the red rim and nipple detail on a spare set of wheels I have and will use through spring summer. bling that you just cant get on the centreline rotors.

You do realise that certain rotors are meant for certain brakes? Source? Floating rotors: Popular amongst both performance orientated riders and those just looking for something a little different Stainless steel braking surface riveted to an aluminium central carrier Offers a significant weight saving over standard rotors Floating design deals with changes in temperature Available in a six colour options Weight 183mm: 147g Vented rotors: The vented rotor is designed specifically for our Tech V series brakes The rotor uses internal fins to allow the air to flow between the two friction parts The induced air flow significantly reduces heat build up in the rotor Fantastic and consistent braking performance in wet conditions thanks to its capability to clear the water layer through its fins Dyno tests show up to 15% less heat build up compared to our floating rotors Weight 203mm: 288g just an example from the hope site. quite a few different rotors are thicker than others too PLUS, look at the saw rotors, different caliper designs will line up differently on the disc, so instead of there being 100% contact on the disc, there could be alot less

Obv the vented hope ones are quite a bit thicker, so its not the best example, but the comment about the saw rotors is valid.

Ahh, I knew about the vented brakes, I've never been running V4 brakes nor was I using vented discs.
The Shimano discs I have atm are working beautifully with the Hope's atm, got that at a bargain price as well.

I take it as they don't produce brake the uberbike ones must be universal or at least useable on the majority such as shimano and avid brakes.
They are the ones that I was favouring.

Just get superstar and ignore the plebs on here, I've had various bits of superstar stuff over the years as have hundreds of thousands of others around the country, never been let down by any of it, pads, rotors, stem even had a wheelset on my trail bike that was fine, a wheelset on my DH bike that was bullet proof and I bought a stans wheelset from them for a bike that never got built and I sold them for more than I paid.

At the risk of Adam rushing back from Poland and beating me to death with the bloody stump of my own ripped off leg, add me to the Superstars fan club. Some real quality stuff at bargain prices.
Can anyone else hear distant screaming coming from the east?
