Hi all,
I am new to this forum but am pretty keen on entering this, as I missed out on ard rock tickets this time round. May have some others joining me but would be nice to meet up there (or beforehand on a ride).
Now let's just hope I can get tickets before they sell out

It was 15 miles last year, with 6 timed downhill stages varying from 1 minute to two minutes long. Two stages last year were the red North and red South trail descent, and other four were hand dug, off piste natural routes.
More stages are in the pipeline for digging, if they can get finished in time. And ability wise all you need is a set of confident bike handling skills, as due to insurance, everything has to be rollable.

Oh and if you didn't come last year every rider got a free beer and BBQ food on completion (or lucozade for the non-drinkers like me!)

Bugger I was hoping you would say it was a killer , and massive jumps so I could say not a chance, not in to massive or big jumps .. I'm blaming Duncan for trying to get me to enter this .. As fitness wise .. Lots of climbing I take it ? Mite have to think about this .. What with being an old man .. And all that .. Bike skills what's that then .

Climbing wasnt bad last year and you are not timed on the ups, although there is a deadline obv. One section where everyone was pushing up a steep muddy climb through the trees was a nightmare, took forever. The descent from that climb was probably the hardest that day aswell, but there was no big drops or jumps.

Haha stage 4? The push up at bottom of Grizedale Pike? That was my first stage as we were sent out first to make sure all three stages were clear for you lot on the south side, another team swept north first. We had to sort some signs out due to naughty walkers trying to send you the wrong way!
Climbing is just usual Whinlatter stuff, was somewhere between 2000 and 3000ft I think. Don't think of it as a race, just a good laugh on your bike and definitely bring friends, spirit of Enduro and all that jazz haha!

Yeah stage 4 lol. We started north first, stage 1 was hilarious, unrideable . Hope for more the same this year! It still is unrideable! I went for a scout the other week, and there is a rut down to like bedrock, but it's so deep and narrow, its pedal bash Central... I was bouncing all over the spot! It needs some love if it's going to be used again, not sure it is though...stage two has changed completely, bottom section through the trees has had all the loose loam washed out, leaving this mega mesh/chute of spidery roots - I think it's awesome, some of my friends don't!
