Took my bike for a walk down two of the stages tonight to see how things were looking. Forget spikes on your tyres, you're gonna need some spikes on your shoes to help you find grip when you are running!! The roots are the last of your worries. Think of those born survivor or tough mudder type events, but you've got your bike beside you :')
Best piece of advice: don't wear white.
See you on Saturday!

Tbh there was only really two muddy sections last year, the rest were fine. Two sections are the final descents on each loop well they were last year so that's hard packed any who.
Don't let me fall off by me sell man

Oooch ya bugger ...nowt worse than nagging toothache . Wise choice in my opinion..a gob full of Whinlatter mud would only make it worse ..and it's set for rain all through the night and tomorrow too ! I'm no fair weather rider myself but I'm quite glad I don't have a bike this weekend tbf! Hope the pain eases soon ...

As I was wading through stage 6 the only thing that kept me going was finding out who bloody taped the bottom of that bit and sent us up and across to the bog from hell!

That's a hard push. We said as we were slipping up it that it would probably be easier to pedal to top of South, hike a bike up grizedale and ride down to the top of the stage. That would be Enduro!

well guess who took the ladies win........well done rachel Cheers thought I'd blown it when on stage 4 I took an untouched highline close to the wide tape and it was so fast as nobody had ridden it before (everyone had hung low in the slop)... Then out of nowhere I was clothes lined by a fir tree branch and swept off my bike. Took 30 minutes, end of the next stage, for feeling to come back into my lips, cheek and chin, was a real whipper!

and another podium at hamsterley today too, well done again Don't know how I managed to pull that off, I was reall aching today, woke up and nearly thought about pulling out. Crashed twice on first race run just due to arms not bothering to steer when my brain told them too due to tiredness. Put a better effort in for run two, stayed safe and on the bike and moved up the field. Job done and collected full double points for highest place senior lol
