Nope.. The BB threads were crap! They re-tapped all threads and gave me a new BB and some other stuff! Happy days! That's interesting. Somewhere, possibly in the CRC customer reviews, ISTR someone complaining about threads on a frame.
Just to make sure I've understood this: The BB threads were faulty but they re-tapped them and now they are OK....?
I'm really glad you got sorted. I think most of us on here were very sympathetic given the stress you must have had with it.
Of course we won't know for sure it's OK till I've had a go!

This is the part I'm not 100% sure of. The frame went back to them because I complained that the threads were not as they should be. They didn't want the frame back, they, like most people and understandably, automatically assumed I was the cause of the problem. I'm a very honest person and If I thought for 1 second that I was to blame for the whole BB/threads issue, I'd have admitted to it and bought a new frame or whatever. After a few irate telephone conversations and several e-mails, they agreed to have the frame back and 'inspect' it. The day they received it I had a call from one of their warranty guys who admitted the threads were, in their words, 'dodgy'. He couldn't/wouldn't say how or why they were dodgy. They retapped both sides. Now, to answer your question "are they now ok?"... I don't know!! They fitted the BB and sent the frame back to me. All I can do is assume/hope the threads are OK. Without removing the BB, I can't be 100% sure they are. Obviously, there will be a day when the BB needs removing and I guess it'll be then that I find out if the threads are OK or not. I have every confidence that they will be but, like I say, I can't be 100% sure they are!

Thanks for that, Andy. I'll keep it just in case it could come in handy in the future. I'm very tempted to remove and refit the BB just to 'test' the threads!? Sorry I missed your call too, I got your message though. I just had my tea and was having a nap

Loving some bits, not so much some other bits. Time for cable management What don't you like? You can't have bars as somebody had them already Hoses are being shortened as I said on the first page

Fair enough. Different strokes and all that.
Overall, I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Bit gutted I couldn't get the rims I wanted but that's about it.
I've said it before but when you build a bike yourself, you get an added buzz when you ride it and it doesn't fall apart.
Can't wait to get on it on Friday.

Can't put my finger on it. Just feel it's a lot of expensive parts thrown onto a frame (which it is i know), but there's not the collective look like from a manufacturer where it all sits lovely together as a package. Sorry If bars are gone, then grips I disagree on that one, the rim decals match the frame an look factory spec, the all sram drivetrain, reverb and guides are all factory, black bars and grips, and black fork and shock. I think it looks likes a high end factory bike with what many who know a lot more than me consider to be the best fork and shock you can get I'm not saying you should like it as it's an opinion and everyone has one but to say it looks like a mess of parts is wrong Ps love you jay #megafriend

Not bad looking that! IMO, it would look better with black stealthy graphics or yellow graphics on the forks. Red doesn't suit the bike
I understand what they say about the bars too, look as if they're at a slight wrong angle. I know when my bars are rotated slightly too much, they hurt my eyes!
Other than that, bloody cracking looking bike with quality spec! Enve wheels will top it off a treat!

Sod all wrong with the bars!... Just may want rolling forward a twadge! Is that what they're getting at with the bars? They probably will be twisted round a bit. I've not ridden it yet, things like bars, levers etc are just bolted on. Even the seat height isn't as it will be. It's literally just been built. Things will change a bit. I'll set it up properly (move things about) on Friday.

Looks tidy, pal and I'm glad you got the whole BB fiasco sorted.
Got some tips on bike set up, that you won't hear everywhere, for you to try.
With these frames, remove the lowest cable guide on the down tube. I've done it to a mate's Mega for him and it gives smoother shifting and stops cable rub as well. Worth doing. Buy a sheet of skateboard grip tape and cut a tiny piece out to fit on the top of the Reverb button. That grip makes a big difference when it's shitty out. Bring your brake lever angle quite a way up, higher than you think- about 10-20 degrees from the horizontal. It will get you to your lift your body up and look further forwards, so that your brain has more time to process the tral and you go faster without feeling out of control.
Let me know how you get on with some of those.
