Is that what they're getting at with the bars? They probably will be twisted round a bit. I've not ridden it yet, things like bars, levers etc are just bolted on. Even the seat height isn't as it will be. It's literally just been built. Things will change a bit. I'll set it up properly (move things about) on Friday. Thats exactly what i meant, im sure once you've given it a good ride, you'll be able to tweak it just right and it will look the dogs! No worries. I'll get it done Friday and put a new picture up so you see what's what. I haven't even say on it yet lol

I'm hating the rotors, but the rest is well tidy ay it! Thanks.. The looks of the discs is growing on me. If they eliminate the horrible squeels I usually get from Hope and Shimano, which they promise to do, then they are fine by me.

I sat on my fixie before it even had wheels i was that excited!!!!! I'm a bit of a perfectionist! Until the bike is 110% perfect, I won't touch it. Hence why I've not ridden it even though it's just hose length to sort out.

What's wrong with the rotors? got to admit I ain't a fan of the overly flashy rotors (like the Hope saw tooth ones) functional and business like for me. It's a mean looking bike and I wouldn't want it too tarted up, that's maybe just me though.

It's a mean looking bike and I wouldn't want it too tarted up, that's maybe just me though. I just think that some black rotors would look much better on it than the SRAM ones. I just think that as the scheme is largely black then black centred rotors like the Hope or Shimano's would tie together better. I can totally understand though if you don't want Shimano/Hope rotors with SRAM brakes and drivetrain though, I'm a bit OCD like that and like to match brands. I'm eagerly awaiting the Marzocchi shocks to come out! I've no idea what rotors you have, but if they are the SRAM ones that came on my Commencal then they were really flimsy. It was really easy to actually bend (not to the point of deforming it) the rotor when trying to align the calliper. Hope I'm not being perceived as being negative, i'd sell the contents of my nut sack for this bike (then put my Hope rotors on!)

Right then... Hoses have now been managed, Reverb has been bled and gears are as good as I can get them for the minute. It's now ready to ride On Friday morning I'm going to take the cranks off and experiment with removing spacers etc. Then it'll be ride time and chance to mess with the suspension! I was having some trouble with the headset. I just couldn't get the top-cap to sit correctly and the whole thing just wouldn't tighten up. After a bit of head scratching, it turned out that the fork steerer was a gnats cock to long, probably a few mm's. The top cap was just about sitting on the steerer and wouldn't compress the bearings and hold things tight. I slipped a spacer in and, Bobs your uncle, job done. I've had a quick blast down the street and it felt nice. The 42t sprocket feels like it will allow me to climb a vertical wall. The brakes feel really nice, much better than I expected. When fitting the brakes, they felt a little bit plasticy and, dare I say it, cheap.. On the bike they feel quality and the adjustment is great and what I'm used to with the Hope brakes I usually opt for. The 'contact point adjustment' seems to work brilliantly, better than Hope's BPC in my initial opinion. Can't wait to get it coming down some hills now...

Maybe finally get to hook up and see this beast in the flesh... I'll be on Cannock Chase mate. Not sure of time or which part yet. It'll be a stop/start ride on the whole to get things right.

Joking aside.. The brakes are superb! I'd go as far to say better than any Hope set I've used, and I love(ed) Hope brakes!
They just feel perfect.. The 'pad contact point' adjustment works brilliantly and is most definitely better than Hopes version.
For any future bikes, I'll be looking at Guides rather than any Hope sets.
Long term..... I've no immediate concerns about anything. They work brilliantly, easy enough to bleed, and a bargain price too.
Win, win

Having said that, it's still covered in crap from the FoD red route! Where do people find the time to clean their bikes?
