and 22.437 tonnes of bullshit.

Just over 20 miles, and 3600 feet for me! you're right adam, just double checked the plotted route on basecamp rather than the recorded one on the day. i'll have to check my calibration also

Tell me lads ..the start of the Jacobs Ladder descent ..does it still have that big lip to roll off right at the beginning ..or have the council in the interests of H&S levelled it off ?

Tell me lads ..the start of the Jacobs Ladder descent ..does it still have that big lip to roll off right at the beginning ..or have the council in the interests of H&S levelled it off ? it remains untouched up to now hodgy. but some of the climb from Coldwell clough up to edale cross has been resurfaced with baby head size loose rocks

that was probs me talking about the rushop edge bridleway. we did that one yesterday as part of Jacobs route. a lot of it is still good but some sections where there was once nice bedrock steppy drops have been filled in with loose baby head size rocks again, very dangerous for all users (horses, walkers, mtbers).the work was halted after lots of outcry from different groups and has been left that way pending further meetings. sounds like its now got embroiled in politics so who knows what the outcome will be.

You can only wonder that whoever makes these decisions ..must be complete desk jockeys and have not a clue as to what the different user groups want ..

Those lose rocks on rushup have settled/compressed a bit since they were first put down, at least now if you carry enough speed you can ride through them, last year it was horrific getting down there.

It was great to meet up, although briefly. Sorry i had to bail on you guys but if I hadn't I would probably still be going round! I was seriously blowing out of my arse after that first climb. I need to put some serious hours in on the bike between now and Snowden. Good luck. I'm up for the same ride on the same day next year so book a day off. Take inspiration from Gaz who was in his own words, something of a porker a year ago. My money says we'll be calling him "Gaz the whippet" in another year.
PS If you don't come next year can you send that bird off your avatar.
