Ever since Glynn put up that amazing picture of him, in the summer sun, going down a descent with a reservoir and road seemingly miles below him, I've wanted to do it. That and Snowdon are on my 'to do' list this year - after that I ain't bothered but I must do those two things. Yes, I know I'm a puff but I want it to be perfect too, I might only do the Peaks once so for me, I'm looking at doing it June/July when it will be at it's best. Can't wait.
Post that pic on here again Glynn? I'm going to save that to favourites...might be a good motivator to look at that now and again.

It was great to meet up, although briefly. Sorry i had to bail on you guys but if I hadn't I would probably still be going round! I was seriously blowing out of my arse after that first climb. I need to put some serious hours in on the bike between now and Snowden. Sorry you had to bail mate , you mite want to drop that 34t off the front mate I would not be able to ride up half of wot you did , with that on Try and get your 30t to work it will help no end mate .. Pit will be worth you going a again as I was in the same boat last year when I started riding the peaks .. Just ask will the poor sod had to keep waiting for me all the way round .. Keep at it mate Jan, don't worry mate. We are all at different levels fitness wise and I know for a fact (despite Ergaz's bullshitting ) that the lads you were out with are all machines...way above my level. I'm still doing Snowdon and if me and you take longer than the rest, then so what? as long as we do it, that's all that matters. As far as I am aware Snowdon ain't a race - and if it was, I still don't give a fuck! it is what it is and I'm not going to ruin a great weekend by fretting about how fit I am or not. If I need more stops, I'll take em! We'll be tail end Charlies that weekend - bring it on! Cheeky sod I was tail end Charlie ... Still am when riding with glynn and Andy .. And sarky you missed a brill ride cracking descents giant rock gardens mate

Yes, but you won't be tail end charlie when I'm around - that's the point I was making. Andy and Glynn especially are machines, no shame in being at the back - you can only do what you can do.

It was that pic that made me head up there (and keep going back) - it embodied everything about MTBing for me. Previous banner pic of me taken by Gaz was our poor homage to it. As Pez sez - post it up again Glynn.

Spot on Will - though that pic of you was also inspirational - despite most of it being taken up by your arse, what I could see around it was fantastic scenery

there you go chaps ,it is one my favorites still now. we were saying similar things yesterday about the views as you just go over the brow of Jacobs ladder where the massive view opens up in front of you . all this talk about me being a machine and mountain goat is b*****ks if you ask me , if you were to see me blowing out of MY arse and struggling to keep up with some of the other lads I sometimes ride with, its all relative and we've all been there and still are there.as long as you get out, have a laugh and enjoy the scenery.........what a brilliant way of keeping fit eh?

They're not all gruellers like that... As moderator I've personally banned Glyn from organising rides!!! Hope to see you soon.

theres got to be a entry for the banner pics amongst this lot. There was a view right at the top of Jacobs, just about to start our descent, we were all wowed by it! And almost caught us all out!...

That's Glynn's back yard and it shows. In a race between a mountain goat and Glynn my money would be on Glynn. The goat would win on looks though! Andy, think that says more about you than Glynn! Andy did try to park it up my arse atleast 5 times!... So this statement is very valid!..

But it worked...

On the warm down back to the station, Andy said if I gave him £20 he'd go round again!..

last ones 1. even the lady walker in red commented as she past him on adams choice of shoes 2.gaz at hollins cross 3. a bit of faff at hollins cross before the comedy descent
We never did discover if how she noticed he was wearing (ghey) road shoes or someone had tipped her off. Come on now. Time to fess up !
