I m still up for this and booked the day off work, just wondered what it may be like if it rains pretty much every day before next Thursday, as the forecast currently predicts, what it like after such a wet spell, should we have a plan B which rides better if its a bit on the soft side?

View Attachment Although they are big grassy hills ..the surface in the main is stony ..so we should be ok ( famous last words !) I've already booked the weather to be warm but slightly overcast ..and if it's not..skin's waterproof! Lol

That's fine. I don't mind a bit of drizzle while I'm out this weekends weather being a good example, I just wasn't sure if its on of those trails that people say to leave if wet more for the sake of degrading and messing up the trail itself. If its hard packed and stoney then rock on.

No pun intended at the end of your post there Kirky? " if it's hard packed & stony..then rock on "...very good ..I likes it ! There will be some muddy bits for sure especially if it's been raining prior to going ...but that will just add to the fun! Fingers crossed that we get a nice dry spell leading up to it ...forecasts can change on an hourly basis !

I think you would really appreciate the full suss Glynn is it a bit rough and rocky then? You could say that ...the drop through Bowderdale itself requires your full concentration all of the time ..it's brilliant ..but a full body work out !

Proper rocky singletrack with a steep drop to the right in many places gets my full attention! That woodland rooty section through Murthwaite(?) will also get our attention if it's sodden

I really don't want to drag the 160mm enduro up the calf and expect it maybe overkill for most, as the tranny climbs a lot better, would 125m/140mm travel be sufficient, I'm sure it will be and should be a bit more fun but just checking.
