Lunch time Ant & Jaco ..who ate something that didn't agree with him .. Dave & Russell the muscle ..I've never met anyone who climbs like this bloke ... Graham ..who forgot his sarnies and had to resort to eating his fingers ... That's all I could take as my storage on the phone was full ...

It's based on the Vertebrate publishing book for the Lake District ..Essential Trails ..with extras added on The title of the thread is more than a bit confusing as it was originally going to be a ride out of Keswick ..but the ride is on natural trails around Grizedale Forest ..seriously though you couldn't build anything this good

...and there's more ! Thanks to Jean for forwarding these...you will excuse me for not including the one of myself where I'm doing my best Teletubbies impersonation This one has me worried ..I'm obviously in the picture ..and it looks like my bike that we are inspecting..but can I remember this at all ..nope ! Could someone please enlighten me ? Jaco in the background got worried by a very aggressive rock ... Yes it looks fairly obvious which way the track goes ..so why did we ignore it and head up the hill in the wrong direction ..beats me but at least we quickly realised our mistake Are you happy now Jaco ..got that rock sorted out!? Heading up the hill in the wrong direction ..I got my feet soaked for no reason ... Thanks again Jean ..great pics !

...you will excuse me for not including the one of myself where I'm doing my best Teletubbies impersonation ... but you did include the one where I look like I've eaten all the teletubbies..! Many thanks Neil and Jean... I look forward to returning the favour one day soon

Ahhh ... to be fair I hadn't really noticed that ..I was more intrigued with what was going on in the huddle .. I simply can't remember that at all.. I do seem to recollect though the wind was blowing from behind and that's just your shirt billowing out .... Your post in the Bolts Law thread now makes sense though ...I will be breathing in as soon as I see a phone / camera

Yes I was full of wind, I'd forgotten that was to blame..... But as to the huddle, it looks like it's the gate we eventually took after the wrong track up the hill, (and not even sure about that) and any otherwise clueless.. I seem to have a 'what the feck are they up to' look anyway. But I think Paul's sniffing your saddle and Ant's kissing your rim.

How strange ...you would think that I would remember something like that .... Must have a word with the doc to increase the dosage of my vitamin b12 injection....
The fact that your back pack is exactly the same colour as your top does you no favours in that pic either ...errr ..luvvie...you need a bit of contrast !

I'm reliably informed that was at the gate where we had a snack and decided to have lunch further on, the next bit was the grassy field descent, all clear (I didn't know where it was either).
A big thank you to Ant and everyone else for a memorable day, it was certainly one of the best days I've had mountain biking, up there with Sligachan and Torridon and only a couple of hours away. I do think we should of done more of the R..... next time ;-)
It really was one of those days which will be hard to beat so again many thanks to Ant for leading us.

I will go back anytime and next time maybe we should use the red instead of that fire road to get to Lawson Park, it can only make the ride better
