Not keen on mince pies. I had to do some work today (for a change) so being short of time I decided to have a quick go around Gisburn.
There was many a puddle, not really muddy just standing water, so bugger the mince pies make sure you bring your sealskinz socks.
Gaz, what time do you finish Friday or be able to ride somewhere, I found out my mrs is off so don't have to do the school run. So there fore can have an afternoon ride as long as it's 12/1pm start. Let me know. Could meet at hurstwood.

I think this thread should be deleted... I'll be at work... Meh!!! Sunday working should be banned mate 100% agree with that, although it's only one weekend a year, i'm the only truck driver for the company and i have to work the weekend to get all the meat into the shops for the Christmas hampers, i don't mind it as my boss is sound and lets me finish early at least twice a week in the summer to go riding

Careful with the postcode as it seems on some sat nav devices it trys to put you in the middle of nowhere.
I found a guy driving up and down a fire road last week asking for the car park and he was miles into the trails.
The hub car park is down quiet lane. Whatever direction you come from you should turn down quiet lane.

The trail centre isn't really signposted very well if at all. I think there's on small sign to be seen from only one direction but it just says Gisburn forest.
You'll see the tree line and then look for quiet lane. Once you are on quiet lane just keep going on, less than half a mile, then there's Cockle hill car park and the next one is the hub car park which is signposted at the turn in for it.
Weather looks reasonable for tomorrow. Better than today anyway.

OS grid reference for car park is SD74298 55345 or pretty close if that helps . Matthew

Have you been drinking Neil. Not yet but it is on the agenda for a little later in the day when I'm watching the match ... No I just thought if they were in the wrong place ( Quiet Lane ) ...then by stepping out of the car might give them an idea as to wether they were anywhere near depending on the decibel level ....

If anybody is worried about finding the place I'm happy to rendezvous at mcdonalds near whalley which should be along tell way for all of us. It's 30/35 minutes away from the trails.
If anybody wants to meet and follow from there let me know. Would suggest to meet there by 9.00am.
