Same here that was my last ride. Too late now mate I've arranged other stuff to do. I'm back at work Weds, Thurs and have got stuff on Monday and Wednesday too, but I've got to get out or I'm seriously thinking of selling up. Try and get out over Crimbo - not Crimbo day but maybe boxing day? It's getting serious now!

I finish work on Wednesday for two weeks. No plans as yet for any day apart from 24th, 25th & 26th so, yeah, we'll get summit sorted Think I'll wash the car instead of riding bikes

Thought you'd have been up Gisburn with this mob? funnily enough that's just what I am going to do - wash the car. I dropped me lad into work earlier and saw all the cars with bikes on roofs heading up to Birches, that used to make me want to get home and get on it! Nothing today - think maybe the break will do me good. Yeah, be in touch soon to get summat sorted - Eurobob in the same boat he needs to get out too.

You too Ste? I think that's the trouble, you do get used to doing other stuff, don't you? Hopefully when the weather changes so will we! Right now, I'd rather spend an hour in the garage on the cross trainer. No mud, no getting clobber on and off, done in an hour.

Cogger, I know the feeling. Lovely day here today - but can I feck get myself out the door. Anyone want to buy my bikes? I`ve actually taken some pics this morning of the bandit to use on pink bike for sale section when the time is right, not rushing into it just yet though.
it`s a pity me,pez, bob and ste don`t live closer to each other, then we could all not ride together

Come on guys I'm sure your mtb mojo will come back when the weather improves and you get a few rides in with quick succession. Getting out of an habit is sometimes easier or quicker then getting into one. It's a shame to hear you talk of selling your bikes as when we met I felt you had a great enthusiasm for getting out there. Maybe some new trails and forum rides may improve your mood.
Us of the riding variety had a great day at Gisburn today. I've been getting a bit bored of it there and I only go once a month or two but today it breathed new life into it sharing with a good gang of lads and a lass. We had a good ride and cracked and everybody made it up and don't the hope line twice and stayed intact.
The weather was fantastic and the forecasted rain stayed away.
Nice seeing old and new faces hope to catch you again.

It's nothing to do with the mud for me. I do a military boot camp 2 or 3 times a week . Crawling in mud most weeks. I've just lost the passion for biking

Sometimes I don't feel like going out ..it's mainly when it's blowing a gale ..other than that weather conditions really don't come into it ... Maybe I'm different to everyone else ..but I do think the people I regularly ride with are of the same or similar mindset . First & foremostly I ride because I love the outdoors ..and I'm happiest on natural trails rather than trail centres . I'm not one who is looking to finish the ride before I have started ..I couldn't give a flying fig as to how long it takes . Strava / personal bests ..how long it takes to get up or down a hill ..it all means nothing to me .. My personal bests are the scenery / wildlife that I happen to pass along the way ..and the sense of well -being I have at the end of a ride .. I hope that never leaves me ...

Meanwhile at Gisburn today. Half a dozen of us cleaned the tricky slabby and loose climb from the old quarry and watched to see if the others would do the same. Nah they didn't quite make it, couple of lemons sorry I mean oranges! Didn't get chance to take any other pics. Hopefully Michelle will Rock up with some quality video footage of every body styling over the hope line jumps.

completly agree with that hodgy! im not one for comparing meself with other riders that iv never ridden with. i do tho like it if i clean something for the fist time or ride a piece of trail better than before. what a brilliant way of enjoying the outdoors and scenery. what i like is that its a great way of keeping fit without it being a chore. looking forward to the next ride with gaz and jack.................weather looks like being kind to us.

Who Said anything about being scared of riding in mud? It could have been mid summer today and i still wouldn't have turned out.you either want to ride or you don't and at present I don't.

Great day today meeting everyone at last, I even enjoyed Gisburn somewhere I normally don't get on with.
Got to say though Pinocchio I easily won the rear end Charlie award on ups and downs, Michelle was going faster than me when she was walking up cardiac hill . Need to get out more again and get fitter. Hopefully we can get something sorted between Christmas and new year.
My missus wants to know though why it is I meet men off the Internet in woods miles from home and come home grinning! Don't knock it till you tried it is my answer to that.
