I'm actually very excited to ride this new baby...something quite cool about riding a basic bike, 9 gears, bigger hoops, no complicated forks...something for me to commute and the occasional ride by the missus (who just had a test ride and approves it). Got it for 220 quid (with warranty), including the new Shimano brakes (spd on one side for me, and platform on the other for the missus). It's as new really, and has already some upgrades (Deore clutch mech, Race Face ring, SLX shifter)...might get some Schwalbe Hurricane tyres at some point for it to roll even better on the road. And if anyone has a carbon fork for a 29 that could fit, let me know!

Arrived! Can't stop saying Wow... It looks much better than I ever imagined...in terms of quality of welding, etc, it is on par with the Van Nicholas and that was very very good...ill be at Evans tomorrow first thing...hopefully on the trails Sunday! I know I had a small hiccup along the way with the cable guides, but overall I couldn't ask for a better experience...Chris from Kingdom is a top top guy, always really helpful, replying promptly to emails at any time of the day, etc...even with the extra work, I still saved a great amount of money from RRP...he even sent me a free RS shock pump and some extra dropouts and Ti bolts! If anyone wants Ti, go Kingdom!

Looking forward to seeing this built up, I bet your like a kid at Christmas I don't think my girls get as excited! It's the long culmination of a very expensive jigsaw! Tomorrow will be the final test to see if it all comes together well!

Thanks guys...i am very biased but i have to admit, it looks even (much) better in person...the welds are very nicely done, and it feels really solid and robust...ready for a rough time! I'm glad i went with the understated stealth decals.

Great stem and bars with brillant grips which is what I use haha good taste Frames not bad lol I've got to say would like to see that one in the flesh Its the best combo and probably quality as Enve but much cheaper (as is to Renthal)...you can't go wrong with Thomson...the lines of the bars and the stem (that one is 40mm) are awesome. What headset spacers do you use on yours btw? Im sure Glynn will organise one of his cool Hope/Derwent/Blacka/etc rides soon so we can all meet!?

I have their carbon Enduros and Alu Enduros, and stem.. much prefer the quality over Enve.

These new bikes with the slack geometries apparently don't want many spacers under the stems...10mm max...ive seen many now with only 5mm spacers...

(apparently a 150mm and 100mm versions on their way?! not quite sure why anyone would want 100mm over the other but... ).

I love the Thomson gear - if only I could afford it! Apart from the dropper, I thought their prices were very equivalent with all the others tbh. It's the ones you don't see like the headset and BB that it's painful to justify the extra cash! This is why this project is taking so long to get done...and a few more months to recover...lol! But F#%^ it, you only live once!

This is very true, but if I spent all our money on Hope and Thomson, the Mrs would ensure it was a very short 'you only live once' Bars and stems yeah, as you say, fairly comparable but the dropper...wow...so much more than even the KS LEV I've got, which in turn is more than the Reverb...

My biggest fear is that I die and the wife sells the bike for what I tell her it costs! Lol...I read this somewhere...so true! I got the dropper and a few other parts via the "cycle to work scheme"...so it ended up slightly cheaper! And the previous one I got it for the same price as the KS LEV!
