with the amount of interest in your build gonzalo, there ought to be a record turnout for your comeback ride . altho if its one i post up it will of course be a weekday ride, or you could still join us on windysurfer's ullswater ride. im on a run of 7 consecutive shifts from today. other than that im hoping to be out on monday 14th unless my dodgy knee is still giving me grief

This is very true, but if I spent all our money on Hope and Thomson, the Mrs would ensure it was a very short 'you only live once' Bars and stems yeah, as you say, fairly comparable but the dropper...wow...so much more than even the KS LEV I've got, which in turn is more than the Reverb... There really isn't a comparison to a KS dropper, and a Thomson dropper.... those that buy a Thomson dropper aren't buying them just for performance, but for their quality and design...look at them! They're beautiful!... it's not all about performance..

But price isn't essentially what makes it better... however the Thomson and Reverb, both out perform all other posts...fact.. that's why they sell a lot more, the bi-product.. more issues... this is a common trait with mass production. In a nutshell If you can afford it... the performance is there in the premium brands... so it's the obvious choice. However I wouldn't be against using a KS

I've sussed you out - is it because it's got a titanium seat rail, by any chance?

However I wouldn't be against using a KS Adam I don't doubt you are right about Thomson products a mate has the dropper and it really is a nice looking bit of kit, but I can only speak as I find from my own experience. The LEV has been in constant use for well over a year now - nearer 18 months in fact, all I have done to it is clean it after rides and apply silicon spray to the seals and stanchion - it's been faultless up to now. I'm a 14 stone rider who isn't very skilfull either so it gets some hammer!

My 'cheapo' KS eten has done well for 12 months. Only issue I had was it dropped occassionally but sorted that out with adjusting cable tension and a good spray with silicone. My mates X-Fusion hilo has been back twice in around the same amount of time as it keeps loosing pressure.

I've sussed you out - is it because it's got a titanium seat rail, by any chance? Shit...!? Didn't even know about that!? That makes it even better...lol I like all black droppers (only flaw with the Thomson) and that one apparently is trouble-free! If that exists because you can find unreliability experiences with ALL droppers! The best one is the one with the better turn-around or warranty!?

Yes I do prefer the black droppers - The LEV is gold but at least it goes with the X-Fusion Sweeps on the Bird, on the Chief though it had to be a Reverb to match the Pikes! I'm intrigued by that dropper you linked, though I'd never heard of it before, got to say though I am naturally sceptical over trouble free claims for droppers - by their very nature they are more prone to issues than any other bit of kit on a bike. Edit - read the review fully now and I'm also a fan of the cable operated droppers - much simpler and just as smooth as the Reverb's system. It does look a real option for any future posts I buy - cheers!

I've read another review on that same dropper from another magazine or website, who also had the same opinion that it is a bit painful to install but really great. Wish Thomson was black or had the Kashima gold! Lol...it would be better for my OCD!

I'd have one if I was looking for price/performance too... unfortunately bike snobs just like the top premium stuff.

The Thomson affair for me started with the stems...then because I have OCD, the rest need to match! Just wish I could stretch my budget to their Ti bars... Now the question is...do I remove two of the wheels stickers or not? (Wish they were stealth!?)

I have 4 of them, had no issues either other than when I snapped a lever off, that was my fault.. The Thomson to me, certainly look the best... And having had most things Thomson they do interest me.
