Gisburn is a really good centre to have a go at mate really enjoyed it there, and out of the three I did in Scotland I think Dalbeattie and innerlithien were amazing to Glentress was good but not enough downs on thr black for all the climbing you do
Can't beat a natural

I'll show you my ENVE's Yeah, I was also waiting for the worst tbh, but we were all surprised how good the weather was! We were very lucky! I had a great time and we were lucky again for being able to do some new sections! I prefer not to see the Enve's...if you know what I mean!? I'm looking forward to see the carbon Mavic's when they come out...if they are as good as I imagine and considerably cheaper...

Not quite...Mavic's are great, as long as they don't go wrong! I actually think because of the spokes, they might be the best looking...the Crank B Iodine are also very nice but apparently a pile of shiiite!
Now, I've see this on you tube...looks awesome!

Hahaha.. I agree about the spokes, they look superb. I had some Crank Brothers Cobalt (i think) wheels. Took a gamble after reading that a few people had loads of trouble with them. Glad I did! Amazing looking wheels and totally trouble free! Also the bike I went to Whinlatter on..Not the most comfortable experience. Get a ride sorted, mate. I'm sure they'll be a bit of interest from us lot down here (including me if it's not windy, raining, too hot, too cold, foggy, misty, dark, overcast)

It is ...that looked to be in slow motion compared to the speed Gaz & Russell were riding it the last time we were there ... Russell has since admitted that he was on the threshold of what for him was crapping his pants time ...I was expecting to find a couple of basket cases ...
On the slim chance that the " author " of the video reads this... If you are going to use such an iconic backing track as Steppenwolf..Born To Be Wild ..make sure it's the original..dont know who that was but it was utter shiite

LLOLOOLOLLOLOLOOLLO I am ashamed I have to admit! It is proper horrible that mudguard! I apologise! But it was supposed to be really raining and really windy! The weather was fine really! I'm so glad we went today! BUT HOW DO YOU KNOW?!?Went to Rockguardz who will send me the frame protector...and offered me one of their sexy front mudguards for much considerably cheaper than RRP if I want!? Decisions... Is there a better trail centre than Llandegla? Because I think this one is awesome...but I don't tend to ride trail centres!? Funniest part (well, not so much fun but you know what I mean) was a guy on a brand spanking new Porsche Macan (I believe) with two Santa Cruz on the back, reversing straight onto the side of a parked BMW...!? In front of everyone... No clue... You can't go on a ride with Marmite and not end up on Facebook, mate hahaha.. Llandegla is probably the best trial centre in England/Wales TBH.. Not least because of their superb burger and chips CYB is better

Yeah...those are the wheels I meant! Look really nice, specially after seeing some up close yesterday.
That section looks like you can go really fast...looks awesome! I really want to take the advantage of my trips to Cumbria every month to do some natural stuff but also Winlatter...might as well experience both!
I've heard there is a place in Wales where you pay a fee and they take you and the bike to the top of the hill as many times as you want!? Is that true? Is it just for DH?
...I know it's a bit of a cheat but should be cool!

Was good to meet up yesterday guys, good laugh as always!!!
Felt sorry for Andy when his reverb went about 3 miles into the ride.
It could have been quite expensive for myself too, when I took my rear wheel off in the car park my mech literally fell off!!! Glad it didn't come off on the last fast section as it could have been messy.

...that kind of sums up my attitude to dropper posts ..just when I think I might actually try one...I hear of yet another "fail"...

Is it just for DH? ...I know it's a bit of a cheat but should be cool! There are other DH type places but I think you mean Antur Stiniog mate, it's based in Blasteau Ffestiniog, Snowdonia. Good place, the uplift is ace and just seems to be a constant flow, maybe too regular and none stop as I ended up totally knackered just from a morning session we got about 9 or 10 runs in. Some of the features were a bit much for me on the trail bike and generally I would say the reds are equal to most trail centre blacks and the blacks are full on DH runs. Great fun though. We tackled the blues reds and a bit of the blacks as a warm up to do the blacks after the lunch break, I didn't make it as I binned it badly on the a last run before lunch and couldn't find the required dt swiss spokes to fix my wheel. End of ride and no more for the rest of my stay in wales. stiniog would be a good comb to do the day after CyB or Tackling snowdon or Cadair Idris as there's not so much pedalling, however there is some flat bits on some of the runs. The constant bone shaking takes it out of you by way of a full body workout instead. my final run, oops, was going good until I bumped a rock in the verge.

...that kind of sums up my attitude to dropper posts ..just when I think I might actually try one...I hear of yet another "fail"... Hodgy...get one mate...it's a great great piece of kit...for places like yesterday where you are constantly going down, then climbing for a bit...it would make my rides lot less fun and much more dangerous. I believe this new reverb version will be much better...or just get a Thomson if you want a piece of jewellery and trouble free easy maintenance (if any) post! Trick...get your missus to shop at Tesco...get their vouchers every 3 months...double their value for Evans vouchers...get Price Match at Evans if you find cheaper...buy it through TopCashBack...makes your dropper a lot cheaper!

Kirky...I'm surprised you got as far as you did with that bloody grass snake flapping around from the front of your helmet ...did you not notice that before starting?
Seriously though I wonder how many of us instinctively put our hands out in front of us to break our fall ..probably the worst thing you can do but I bet most of us are guilty of it .. Nice to see there was no permanent damage though John .......err yes right..!

I honestly would hate to ride without a dropper now, so easy, makes the downs so much more doable.

When you are over the bars down a steep shoot inevitably you are launched head first, I tried to be a bit like superman through the air cushion some of the impact through the arms and shoulder roll. Should have been a stunt man. If you ain't crashing from time to time you ain't going fast enough. Sounds like a good excuse lol.

...that kind of sums up my attitude to dropper posts ..just when I think I might actually try one...I hear of yet another "fail"... hodgy take a look at these. i have been extremely pleased with my grav dropper for the last 6 or more years. made in the USA, simple all mechanical design which can be stripped and cleaned very easily. every part of it replaceable down to the last screw, even tho i havnt replaced anything yet. its now getting to the end of its life , so will be looking at getting another one rather than replace all the components. gravitydropper.com/im the same as alot of other users. IMO, the best single upgrade i have ever made. wouldnt want to ride without one now.
